ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING = FRIDAY, DECEMBER 14, 1973
• The City Council met in session at 12:00 Noon on. this date in'the Flight Deck Restaurant
at the Yakima Air Terminal.
Councilmen present at the meeting were Bert Broad, Wray Brown, Howard C. Cole, Betty
L. Edmondson, Ralph Holbrook and Bill Whitaker. Councilman Don Schussler absent.
There was discussion by the Council regarding the proposed Gambling Ordinance. It was MOVED
by Brown, seconded by Edmondson'that the Council adopt the ' "Seattle Plan" of'a graduated
tax on Bingo, raffles and amusement games conducted by'charitable or nonprofit organiza-
tions: carried, Broad, Brown, Cole,.Edmondson and,Whitaker voting aye by voice vote;
Holbrook voting nay by voice vote. Schussler absent.
It was MOVED by Whitaker, seconded by Holbrook to recommend that the City would follow the
decision of the County in regard to punch boards and pull tabs:' carried', Brown, Edmondson,
Holbrook and Whitaker voting aye by voice vote; Mayor Broad and Councilman Cole voting nay
by voice vote. Schussler absent.
There being no further business to come•be.fore the Council, it was MOVED by'Cole, seconded
by Holbrook that we do now adjourn at the.hour of 1:30 P.M.: carried,• Broad, Brown, Cole,
Edmondson, Holbrook and Whitaker voting de by voice vote. Schussler absent.
