ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11, 1973
The City Council met in session at 7 :30 P.M. on this date in the Council Chambers at
Yakima City Hall.

Councilmen present at the meeting were Mayor Bert Broad, Wray Brown, Howard C. Cole, Betty
L. Edmondson, ,_Don Schussler. and Bill Whitaker.'- Holbrook absent. - -
There was discussion by the Council concerning the impasse between.the City and Fire
Fighters Local 469 re pay of alarm operators and clerk typist. It was MOVED by Brown,
seconded by Whitaker that the accept the recommended settlement of the impasse
with IAFF given by City Staff: carried, Broad, Brown,.Cole, Edmondson,
Schussler and Whitaker voting aye by voice vote. Holbrook absent. •
There was discussion by the Council re Airport Security. It was the consensus of the
. Council to.fund Airport Security. from the Airport Fund.
In reference to the matter of management compensation, it was - the.consensus of the Council
to not approve the management compensation program for 1974. It was MOVED by Schussler,
seconded by Whitaker -that a 6..1 percent salary increase be approved for all 'members of •
management,.including the City Manager: carried, Broad, Brown, Cole, Edmondson, o f
Schussler and Whitaker voting aye by voice vote. Holbrook absent..
It was the consensus of the Council to approve $3500 inY_the budget for Public Technology,
Inc.
The Council approved the Refuse Budget.
In discussion re the Contingency Fund, it was the consensus of the Council that it should
be raised to $50,000 or $60,000. .
City Manager McMicken reported that bids were received and considered by the Bid Board
on November 8, 1973, for the Rehabilitation of Runway 4 -22, Schedules II and III, as
follows:

The City Engineer recommending that the bid be awarded to Knobel's Electric for Schedules
II and III, it was MOVED by Schussler, seconded by Cole that the bid be awarded to
Knobel's Electric for Schedules II and III, and that the City Manager be authorized to
enter into contract with said Contractor upon the filing of the proper bond and insurance:
carried, Broad, Brown, Cole, Edmondson, IT-'_'-___'__, Schussler and Whitaker voting aye by
voice'vote. Holbrook absent.
There being no further business to come before the Council, it was MOVED by Cole, seconded
by Whitaker that this meeting be adjourned at 9:00 P.M., to Friday, December 14, 1973, at
the hour of 12:00 Noon, to then meet in the Flight Deck Restaurant at the Yakima Air
Terminal: carried, Broad, Brown, Cole, Edmondson, dIolbrook Schussler and Whitaker voting
aye by voice vote. Holbrook absent.
