ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING - FRIDAY,' NOVEMBER 2, 1973

The City Council.met.in session on this date at 12 :00 Noon in the Flight Deck Restaurant.
•
Councilmen present at the meeting were Mayor Bert Broad, Wray Brown, Howard C. Cole, Betty
L. Ralph Holbrook and Bill Whitaker. Councilman Schussler absent. Also present
were City Manager. McMicken, Russell Miller, Stan Darling and Al Bell.
The Mayor described the press conference idea as the result of his meeting the news_
rried'ia • The consensus is to have two press conferences in the Council Chambers with all
Councilmen twice monthly, twenty minutes before the regular`:00 P.M. meeting time.
The Council requested a_review of the Council agenda in order to determine rearranging of
'C'ouncil'business to have more important items'at the beginning of the meeting. .
The Mayor announced a meeting of cities•,of the valley in the Council Chambers on Wednesday,
November 7; 1973, beginning at 8:00 P,M.. to discuss legislative affairs.
The Mayor reviewed the status of Yakima Youth Homes'efforts to establish itself at the
residence located at Yakima Avenue and 18th Avenue. The Council requested that a Staff
report be'prepared on this subject 'toward the end the Zoning. Code might be amended to
provide for appropriate procedures in processing such applications in the future.
There being no further business to come before the Council, it was.MOVED by Whitaker,
seconded "by Holbrook that we do now adjourn at the hour of 1:30 P.M.: carried, Broad,
Brown, Cole, Edmondson, Holbrook a d Whitaker IVoting aye by voice vote. Schussler absent.
