He stated he received a letter from the School District indicating their willingness to cooperate in . resolving the matter. Council member Berndt expressed her concerns with the proposed solutions: 1) If the 2 hour. parking. on Arlington is not enforced, the students will ignore it; 2) Limiting parking on the east side of 40th Avenue from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. in order to • have parking available for the golfers is not such a good solution because in afternoon when the students returning from. lunch will use those parking spots; and 3) The west side parking on 40th Avenue should be left available for evening use because of sporting events. Mr Copeland informed Council that once the no parking rules are established, staff would be looking towards 40th Avenue becoming a four -lane thoroughfare. Mr. Copeland explained further the possibility of making a "cut -out" in the golf course to provide for off street parking.
