R-2015-083 authorizing the City Manager to execute a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Yakima and Council 2, Washington State Council of County and City Employees representing Local 1122, American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees representing Municipal employees with the City of Yakima, AFL-CIO ("Union"), authorizing a footwear allowance for corrections officers WHEREAS, the City and the Union acknowledge that the issues addressed in the Memorandum of Understanding have been negotiated in accordance with RCW 41.56 for the purpose of promoting the morale of employees of the City of Yakima, and WHEREAS, the City and Union agree that the provisions as set forth in the attached Memorandum of Understanding supersede any conflicting provisions in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) covering the period January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2017 for Municipal employees; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City of Yakima to agree to the terms and conditions of the attached Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Yakima and the Union. Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager of the City of Yakima is hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Yakima and the Union that the City will provide an annual one -hundred fifty dollar ($150 00) allowance in June 2015, January 2016 and January 2017 for the purchase or repair of approved footwear for Correction Officers. This is a benefit already provided to corrections sergeants and police officers.
