Budget: Randy Bonds Jr. presented a report for the budget for 2021. $3,187.57 of the $10,000 yearly budget has been spent so far on Windows Alive related expenses. Three utility box wraps were not yet included in the balance. They will be added in the near future, David Lynx estimated $500-$600 per box. Windows Alive: The Spring 2021 show is now installed. It will run January 29, 2021 through July of 2021. August 31st is the deadline for the next call for artists. The requested "hype video" is being worked on by local students and should be ready soon. Another box is being wrapped by ADI at N 1 St St and East I Street. A question was asked if we needed to go out to bid for non -City wrapped boxes. Randy Bonds Jr. said he would ask and follow up with the council. The possibility of a stipend for the artist was discussed. It was agreed we'd look at this at the end of the year if we had budget left over. The idea was brought up to have a contest for upcoming box art. We would like to install 2 more this year if budget and time allows. The Streets department has requested for art from a former long-time employee who had recently passed away be considered for an art wrap. The Commission agreed this would be a great way to honor this employee. Crosswalk Painting Program: The Yakima City Council has directed the Arts Commission to put together guidelines for a Crosswalk Painting Program. They directed that no City funds would be used in this program, and that we should work with the Public Works department while putting together guidelines. The commission looked at the City of Seattle guidelines (https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/projects-and-pro rams/programs/pedestrian- progra/community-crosswalks) and will consider these guidelines when developing ours. Scott Schafer will provide an estimate of the cost of a crosswalk to paint and do traffic control while painting. A sub -committee was formed and will include Merivet Lombera, Teresa Pritchard, David Lynx and Soneya Lund.
