Minutes
Noel Moxley convened the meeting at 3:30 p.m. In attendance: Susan Duffin (Director
of Development and new Commission representative for Yakima Valley Museum),
David Lynx, Teresa Pritchard, Melissa Labberton, Stephanie Clevenger, John
Gasperetti, Jason Kidall, David Rogers, Noel Moxley, Heath Lambe, Jane Cooper,
Haley Olson. City Staff in attendance: Randy Bonds, Tammy Regimbal.
Windows Alive Opening — October 5th (First Friday): Jane Cooper provided an update
on the artists and installation. Randy Bonds distributed promotional posters. Noel
reported that there are open artist slots for the Spring 2019 display, and noted that the
artists should be reminded that the art must be vibrant enough to be seen from the
sidewalk or farther.
Utility Box Wrap Project: David Lynx reported that the three wrapped boxes are in
process for 2nd, 3rd and 4th Streets along Yakima Avenue, and the 3rd Street wrap has
been installed. Regarding plaques for the boxes, the plaque on the original box has a
logo on it. We need to consider how that was done, and if we want to use it as a
standard for the other boxes (there is a request from a private company to be on a box).
Washington State Creative District: Noel gave an update on the application status and
Heath volunteered to take over. Noel will contact the WA State Arts Commission and
will provide an update at the November meeting.
Art Walk map: Randy shared an updated Art Walk map and the Commission agreed
that it could be published on the Arts Commission website. Randy noted that it can be
updated as needed.
Other Business: John Gasperetti asked about maps that would include art, galleries,
wineries, breweries, restaurants and so on. Randy suggested that it could be done as
an app. Teresa will send location info to Randy.
The next meeting of the Yakima Arts Commission will be November 14t", at 3:30 p.m. in
the Second Floor Conference Room on the second floor at City Hall.
