wilEtvis, a missing person is someone who fias disappeared andtfieir status as alive or dead
cannot Be confirmedas tfieir location and condition are not known; and
WW!EAS, when any person goes missing whether it Be a senior citizen, adult, teenager, or a child
it is important tfiat they do not Become merely a statistic. The circumstances reading to a disappearance are
varied and could Be due to a natural disaster, By tfieir own decision, as in runaway or suicide or due to foul
play,for example, kidnapping, sextrafficking, or murder, and
WJPEAS, anyone, regardless of age,gender, ethnicity, education or social status could someday
have a loved one go missing or even go missing themselves; and
WWEAVIS at any given time tfiere are as many as 100,000 active missing persons cases in the
VnitedStates—the National Institute of Justice fias called this "The Nations Silent Wass Disaster, "and
'WJEtE AS, it is estimatedt fiat tfiere are more than 700 families with missing loved ones in the State
of Washington and tfiere are more than 40,000 sets of unidentified fiuman remain Being field in the offices of
coroners/medicalexaminers across the VnitedStates and100 or more of those are in WNashington State; and
WIPERVIS the fami5.,andfriends of a missing person are now living tfieir fives in limBo—uncertain

addicted to drugs/alcoholoften receive very little attention from law enforcement and get very little sympathy
