ITEM BUDGETED: STRATEGIC PRIORITY: APPROVED FOR SUBMITTAL BY THE CITY MANAGER RECOMMENDATION: ATTACHMENTS: Description Upload Date Type National Day of Prayer proclamation 4/12/2022 Corer Memo 2 Cl2tYog7 TARII1A PROCLAWATIoW wit-Elam, on April17, 1952, the Congress of the 'United States approved the Joint Resolution to provide for setting aside an appropriate day as a National Day of Prayer(Public Law 82-324;66 Stat. 64); and WOE REAS, the history of our nation is inlet-iffy marked with the role that prayer has prayed in the lives of individuate and-the nation; and WIFEREAS, historically, our greatest readers have turned to prayer in times of crisis and thanksgiving; and WHEREAS, the virtues of prayer refrect a common bond hopes and aspirations, sorrows andfears, remorse and renewed resolve, thanks andjoyfu(praise, and Cove; and WHEREAS, [May 5, 2022 has been deemed by Congress as the National-Day of Prayer, when allAmericans are to pray, in their own religious way,for the readers of our nation, NOW, THERETOU, I, Janice cDeccio, [ayor of the City of Yakima and on behalf of the Yakima City Council-do hereby procraim [ay 5, 2022 as "NATIONAL DAT OE MATER» in the City of Yakima, in keeping with the wishes of the Congress of the 'United States, I urge altcitizens to join me in this special observance.
