Gary Belles Yakima Police Department 200 S. 3 Street Yakima, WA. 98901 Re: Yakima Police and Legal Center Administrative Space Improvements Project No. 1052.24 Dear Gary Per our meeting with you and Chief Granato last week, this is our understanding of the scope of the project: The department plans to add a position of assistant chief. At this time there is no office for this position. In addition, a space needs to be provided for an administrative assistant. Our first task is to determine where these spaces could best be accommodated. You reviewed several possibilities with us; we will consider these and any others that seem viable. We will also provide an estimate of probable construction cost. Our second task, after approval of the concept, would be to prepare contract documents, bid the project and do construction administration. We suggest that the first task be on a time and expense basis, not to exceed $3,000. We estimate that it will take approximately 25 manhours for this task, at which time we would negotiate the fee for the second task and establish time lines for the project. Our billing rate for Principals is $120.00 per hour. If the above meets with your approval, please sign and return one copy of this letter, thereby authorizing us to proceed. We just don't know what that is going to be yet. -gary From: Watkins, Linda Sent: Monday, April 21, 2008 3:55 PM To: Belles, Gary Subject: Wardell Contract Our new front counter employee brought me a Wardell contract regarding space needs for a new Deputy Chief. I'm assuming you were the one that dropped it off. I will assign this a contract number and put it on file. Just a reminder, though, it appears this is the beginning of a project that will require Council approval once it is defined and estimated. When it gets to that point, it will require an agenda statement and a resolution. Thanks Linda 4/21/2008
