EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION
NOMINATION FORM
Nominee's Name: Penny Foster
Nominee's significant contribution to your team (250 words or less): Penny Foster is an
outstanding employee who has continually produced an abundant volume of quality
work while maintaining a very high level of professionalism. Penny is always ready to
take on new job assignments as is demonstrated in her recently becoming a fill-in
dispatcher.
Penny's work ethic and attitude are terrific, which has led to her receiving high praise
from our passengers. Our passengers have described Penny as "courteous, friendly
and very helpful." Penny regularly goes `the extra mile' to help our customers and she
has an excellent reputation as someone willing to help others.
Penny's efforts to enrich our community do not end at the conclusion of her work day.
This year, Penny led Yakima Transit's continuing support of the Salvation Army
Children's Shopping Spree. Penny has overseen and worked diligently during Yakima
Transit's fund raising events which totaled $1200 for children in need. Penny along with
several other Transit Operators also volunteered their time to drive the kids to Wal-Mart
and help them with their shopping wants and needs.
Penny is also very involved with Yakima Transit's lighted Christmas bus and she has
sacrificed hundreds of hours of her own time working on different designs and on the
bus itself which placed 2nd in Sunnyside's Christmas parade. Yakima Transit's bus also
made appearances in the Yakima and Union Gap Holiday parades.
Penny was also heavily involved with this year's annual State Bus Roadeo which
received statewide recognition and was considered an excellent event by the many who
attended. Penny's contributions during this event helped Yakima to shine as a city
before a great many visiting from across the state of Washington.
In conclusion, Penny Foster is not only an outstanding Yakima Transit employee but
she has also contributed greatly to our community as a whole and provided for other city
employees, a great example to follow. We are very fortunate to have a person of
Penny's caliber, dedication and character working for Yakima Transit.
