Matthews, Manager Office of Neighborhood Development Services 112 South Eighth Street Yakima, Washington 98901 (509) 575-6101 • Fax (509) 575-6176 MEMO Date: March 18, 2015 To: Joan Davenport, Community Development Director From: Archie M. Matthews, ONDS Manager Subject: Public Notice and Correction Notices As per the attached Yakima Herald and El Sol Notices; The first Yakima Herald notice was displayed Sunday, February 15, 2015 and in El Sol on February 12, 2015 showing the Public Hearing Date as March 3, at 7:00. I attended this City Council meeting and the Public Meeting was opened at 6:30 instead of 7:00 as published, but no one questioned the time change or approached City Council at that meeting later as to Public Hearing Participation on the matter. Realizing I had mistakenly erred with the Public Hearing Time, I took immediate steps to have time correction notices placed in the earliest El Sol Spanish paper on March 12, 2015 and had three consecutive notices published in the Yakima Herald on March 6, 7 and 8th stating the proper time for the March 17, 2015 Public Hearing as being 6:30pm. 1 The City of Yakima, vices will provide a " std an o en fifteen r U,(0o d ! ", , w aginning Faoru ary 17, 2015 through Ch 320 .'rA 1 ^ mments must be sent to ONDS Manager Archie M. I am so grateful that they were able to help me with my home repairs. We are now warm and dry with the roof repairs and the new furnace. Thanks you so much . I Would like to extend a thanks to the installers , they were very prompt and professional with their services . This program is very beneficial to those of us that aren't able to climb or fix it our selves anymore . With our help like this there would be a lot of people out there suffering with winter coming on with maybe no heat as in my case or something else even worse. I hope and pray that the city fathers will continue this program so that others can benefit as I did. May God bless you all in your mission to help those that can't help them selves due to circumstances out of their control. Once again big Thank you to all. Debra A. Mayhak 1201 W. July 1, 2014 Dear City of Yakima, JUL 0 7 2014 OFFICE OF-RH O D OPM--r CFS My name is Lois Richardson and I am a sixty-four year old widow on a limited income. When my husband was dying from cancer the program came and did repair and maintenance to our home relieving him of a lot of stress and worry. If it wasn't for your Senior Housing Emergency Home Repair Program I would not have been able to keep my home. Archie and Orval went out of their way to make sure that my septic tank was emptied every two weeks until I could get hooked up to the city sewer. My home would have been condemned if it wasn't for your program. I feel very blessed to live in a city that has this kind of program for women like me. It has helped me out tremendously. Thank you, Lois Richardson 1523 S. Fair Ave. Yakima, WA 98901 June 13, 2014 Mr. Archie M. Matthews & Staff Neighborhood Development Services 112 South 8th Avenue Yakima,Wa 98901 Dear Mr. O'Rourke, RECEIVED CITY OF YAKIMA MAR 1 3 2014 OFFICE OF CITY MANAGER I would like to take a moment to thank Archie and his staff for the installation of a toilet in my Mother's house on Monday, 10 March, 2014. My Mom is 94 years old and has lived in The Valley all her life. That toilet has been in her house since 1931 and just couldn't make it much further. I tried to affect the repairs, but cracked the water tank in the process. Paydays get a little thin with only Social Security to depend on; the Neighborhood Services folks helped at a time when we needed it the most. I filled out the paperwork for Mom in the morning, and by that afternoon a new toilet reigned supreme in the bathroom. From the ladies at the front desk, to Archie himself, to the young man who installed the new fixture, smiles and pride were evident. I cannot think of words to express how impressed 1 was, and how grateful I am. I owned my own business for almost 20 years, and would hire any one of those people and be glad for the opportunity to have them. Please convey my appreciation to these folks for all they do. I called and thanked them; but a word from the boss is always appreciated. Have a great day, and welcome to Yakima, 441-L2r Prill Hackett 12 March, 2014 RECEIVE] FEB 1 1 2014 OFFICE OF N"r.1F#F3t RHOOC OEVEU'."MFNT SERVICES 0&///-i2 --7-&5' ' ' 5' I e ; 10 C;'v-e • &i'J lq {l2 3a2,728( I ea.. 6017-er-4%,11, -1– cypiqcic4Q- 3u33 haui'n .117e pnyrarFi'' 4'e 6 X71 CI 5"0e Q/ sick t -U J f 1 44) -.. ►be 6 r bro ars KS l b o u r p r y v . h Ob 5 Q t 5 1i C ct.rt v 1$1 h J c/ ( a ;ire ,,j wecule>",--._ C 4/-) /9 6c.LJ 641(\s‘ 004- ,/a,u zz- C.i.,J rr//) 00/ (/e 3 I I/ - -( 5er reC i e L -ec', /haw k- S 'U CV:1 X 1^6 a/ 1 , 6®c( b/e, OBIS % q% / 7 -1, y Sicerey i //,.
