The meeting convened at 3:20 p.m,
Council present: Micah Cawley and Maureen Adkison
Absent: Dave Ettl
Staff Present: Sonya Claar Tee
1) Council members interviewed applicants (Carmen Mendez, Peter Marinace, Matthew
Tweedy and Pablo Gonzalez) for the Planning Commission and asked the following
questions:
• What qualifications and experiences do you possess that would make you an
excellent Planning Commissioner?
• From your perspective, what should the role and responsibility of a Planning
Commissioner be?
• In your opinion, what is the most important issue which the Planning Commission
should be addressing?
• As a member of the Planning Commission how would you help engage community
members in providing public input at Planning Commission meetings?
• Are you able to make the time commitment to this Committee?
2) It was Committee consensus to make the following recommendations to the full City
Council:
a. Recommend Carmen Mendez for appointment to the Planning Commission
b. Recommend Matt Tweedy to the Parks and Recreation Commission as he
expressed an interest in this Committee which has one vacancy
