that requires the City Manager to receive pre -approval for all
planned travel

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
This Resolution will assist the City of Yakima and the City Council to provide complete
accountability, transparency, and appropriate Council oversight on costs and expenditures
associated with the City Manager's travel on behalf of the City, and also provide consistency
with oversight provided by the City Manager over city employee travel costs.

A RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION NO. R -2015 -
Concerning administrative policy; enacting a policy that requires the
City Manager to receive approval for all planned travel prior to the
travel occurring.
WHEREAS, to provide complete transparency and appropriate Council oversight on
costs and expenditures consistent with the oversight provided by the City Manager over city
employee travel costs; and
WHEREAS, to provide the accountability for expenditure of public funds anticipated
by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to review and approve any City Manager travel
requests prior to the planned travel taking place; Now, Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager of the City of Yakima shall submit all planned travel request to the
Mayor or Assistant Mayor for approval prior to the travel taking place.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 17th day of February, 2015.
