SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The Council Nominating Committee (Cousens, Byers and Brown) met on February 7, 2022 and
made the following recommendations for appointment to Boards & Committees:
Housing Authority--Abby Bailey
Arts Commission -- Raudel Iniguez
Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee -- Jesse Dixon
Parks & Recreation Commission -- Robert Young

COUNCIL NOMINATING COMMITTEE MINUTES
Councilmembers Cousens, Byers and Brown
City Manager's Conference Room
February 7, 2022
Meeting convened at 2 PM
Council present: Cousens, Byers and Brown
Staff present: City Clerk Claar Tee
Guest: Yakima Housing Authority Director Lowel Krueger (present until 2:07 PM)
1. New business
The Committee appointed Cousens as Chair. After discussion, the Committee
made the following recommendations for appointment:
• Housing Authority Board
• Byers moved and Brown seconded to recommend
appointment of Abby Bailey. The motion carried by
unanimous vote.
• Arts Commission
• Byers moved and Brown seconded to recommend
appointment of Raudel lniguez. The motion carried by
unanimous vote.
• Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee
• Brown moved and Byers seconded to recommend
appointment of Jesse Dixon. The motion carried by
unanimous vote.
• Parks & Recreation
• Byers moved and Brown seconded to recommend
appointment of Robert Young. The motion carried by
unanimous vote.
• Planning Commission
• It was Committee consensus to interview the candidates.
Clerk Claar Tee will schedule interviews.
2. The meeting adjourned at 2:25 p.m.
