ITEM TITLE: Greenway request for Council member to serve on Board

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The Yakima Greenway submitted a request asking that a Council member serve on the Board.
The Greenway Board meets the 4th Wednesday of the month at noon. Meetings are held in
person; however, there is an option to attend virtually.

Dear Yakima Council Members,
Happy New Year, and THANK YOU for your service to our community.
I am writing to you today with the following request.The Yakima Greenway By-laws stipulate that a
representative from each municipality within the Yakima Greenway corridor provides a representative
to sit as an ad-hoc member on the Yakima Greenway Board. Currently, there is an unfilled position
from the Yakima City Council.
The representatives' duties would include but are not limited to; attending the Yakima Greenway Board
meetings and providing input on projects that involve the Greenway and its future master planning.
Council member Cousens did fill this position at one time and has expressed an interest in attending
once again.
I have attached a current listing of the meeting dates. Our Board meets on the 4th Monday of each
month at noon. Currently, the Board meetings are conducted in-person with a zoom link provided for
the convenience of members who choose to join remotely.
A significant amount of activity is happening along the Greenway, and representation from the city
would be very informative and an excellent opportunity to further our collaboration.
I appreciate your consideration and look forward to welcoming a new member.

All meetings for 2022 will be held by Zoom link and in person at the Mazda
Dealership or other location to be determined. Meetings are 1 hour and 15 min
long.
Board of Director's meetings are held the 4" Monday of each month
unless otherwise noted*. The will also be held at the Dealership with a zoom
link provided.
The Executive Board meets the 2' ' Monday of each month.
