ITEM TITLE: Discussion relating to the Transportation Benefit District; modifying
the Transportation Improvements to be funded by the District

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Yakima City Council wanted a discussion on the possible amendment to the Transportation
Benefit District (TBD) project list originally approved on March 21, 2017.
The potential projects for discussion are the following:
• Intersection at 66th Ave. & Englewood- Cost to be determined as a Warrant Analysis
needs to be conducted to determine what safety improvements may be necessary.
• Nob Hill Blvd. (34th Ave to 44th Ave.) -Approximately$635,000; grind & overlay
• 6th Ave. (Trolley Track) - Two options
1. Approximately $6.9 million; complete grind & overlay/trolley track replacement (as
originally proposed on TBD Project List)
2. Approximately$3.9 million; partial grind & overlay/trolley track replacement
• 40th Ave./Chestnut Intersection - Cost to be determined as an Engineering Study needs to
be conducted first to determine what safety improvements may be necessary.
Enclosed is the current TBD project list that was approved in 2017.

based on receiving an estimated annual revenue of$1.5M.
