RESOLUTION NO. R-2009-05
declaring ER 3109, a 1996 Crane Carrier Corporation cab and chassis with
a Wittke front loading refuse truck body, VIN number
1CYCCB487TT042388, and ER3181, a 2001 Peterbilt 320 cab and chassis
with a Wayne Engineering Curbtender automated side loading refuse truck,
VIN number 1NPZLTOXX1D713343, surplus to the needs of the City of
Yakima, and authorizing their sale in a manner most beneficial to the City of
Yakima.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns these two refuse trucks forwhich the City has no
immediate or foreseeable use and which are surplus to the needs of the City; and
WHEREAS, the above mentioned trucks are beyond their expected useful life; and
WHEREAS, the above mentioned trucks will be used as trade-ins for two new trucks
being purchased in 2009; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the City to
dispose of said refuse trucks, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned ER 3109, and ER 3181 to be
surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to sell said vehicles in a manner most beneficial to the City of Yakima.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
ER 3109, a 1996 Crane Carrier Corporation cab and chassis with a Wittke front loading
refuse truck body, VIN number 1CYCCB487TT042388, and ER3181, a 2001 Peterbilt 320
cab and chassis with a Wayne Engineering Curbtender automated side loading refuse
truck, VIN number 1 NPZLTOXX1 D713343 are beyond their expected useful life and are
surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima. Staff respectfully requests that the City
Council declares these two vehicles surplus and that the City Manager be authorized to
dispose of these vehicles as trade-ins for two new trucks being purchased in 2009.
