For Meeting of: November 1, 2021 ITEM TITLE: Open record public hearing to consider the Yakima Planning Commission's recommendation on a Comprehensive Plan Amendment (CPA#007-21) and Rezone (RZ#007-21) request submitted by Casey and Shawna Gamache SUBMITTED BY: Joan Davenport,AI CP, Community Development Director Joseph Calhoun, Planning Manager(509) 575-6042 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: Digital Design and Development on behalf of Casey and Shawna Gamache, submitted Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment(CPA), Rezone, and Environmental Review applications for one parcel from Low Density Residential to Commercial Mixed Use and rezone from Single- Family Residential (R-1)to Large Convenience Center(LCC). After holding a study session on July 14, 2021 , and a public hearing on August 25, 2021, the Yakima Planning Commission recommended approval of the CPA and Rezone applications, with the Findings being signed by the chair on September 8, 2021. In accordance with YMC 16.10.090, the City Council shall direct planning staff to prepare legislation to approve, approve with conditions, or deny each amendment under consideration; and at a subsequent City Council meeting enact an Ordinance adopting the decision reached at the public hearing.
