PWX!EREAS, the mission at One SYLom's Battle (OY1B)and the 'Family Court
Awareness cvionth Committee (FCASY[C)is to increase awareness on the importance of a
family court system that prioritizes child safety and acts in the best interest of children;
and
WWX!ERAS, the mission at the TCA[MC is to increase awareness on the
importance of education and training on domestic violence, childhood trauma and post
separation abuse for allprofessionals working within the family court system; and
WXE AS, the mission at the TCAW1C is to educate judges and otherfamily
court professionals on the empirical data and research that is currently available. Such
research is a critical component to making decisions that are truly in the best interest of
children. This research includes The Adverse Childhood perience (ACE)Study (U C-
2laiser Permanents), Saunder's Study (VS Department ofJustice), The SYLeierStudy:
Child Custody Outcomes in Cases Involving AbuseACCegations, and the Santa Clara
Law Study (Confronting the Challenge of.7ligh-Conflict Personality in Tamil); Court);
and
` W!!ERM,S, the mission at the 'FCASY[C isfueled by the desire for awareness and
change in the family court system while honoring the 100(+)children in the 'United
States who have been murdered by a parent after a custody court rejected the other
parent's plea for protection.

behalf of the City Council hereby proclaim the month of November as

in the City of Yakima.
