SUBMITTED BY: Cindy Epperson, Deputy Director, Accounting & Budgeting c CONTACT PERSON/TELEPHONE: Linda Kraft, Executive Director, 452-1519 Cindy Epperson, 575-6070 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: At their June 6, 2006 meeting, City Council adopted Resolution 2006-91 that authorized the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the State of Washington Department of Social and Health Services, Division of Child Support (DSHS), so that the City could act as fiscal agent for a federal child support enforcement demonstration project, which was established as the Healthy Families Yakima program, led by Linda Kraft, Executive Director. The federal program had a 5 year commitment, however, the original contract with the state was only executed for 2 years, with an option for 3 one-year extensions, since the expectation that as the program developed there would likely be changes identified for future contracting periods. The program is nearing the end of its third year of operations, and DSHS has identified minor contract revisions, which included primarily the additional budget and reporting dates for the fourth year of the program. The contract with the Executive Director is also nearing the end of the third year. As that agreement mirrors the contract with the State, similar minor changes are included in a contract amendment for Kraft Consulting. The attached resolution will authorize the City Manager to amend both the State Agreement and the Agreement with Kraft Consulting to continue the project for an additional year.
