PEARL BENJAMIN City Clerk July 30, 1947 The (City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and ,Clark present on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, July 21, 1947, be approved as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that the ;City Engineer having reported -that the con- struction of the Storm Sewer on Yakima Avenue in L.I.D. No. 627 has been completed by the State Construction Co; It is ordered that said work be accepted: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that the City Engineer having reported that the con- struction of the Sewer System on South Grandview Avenue and other streets in the City of Yakima being L.I.D. No. 611, has been completed by the Contractor, State Construction Co; It is ordered that said work be accepted and the City Engineer instructed to pre- pare an assessment roll for said district: carried Buck, Bishop and .Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that Monday July, 28, 1947, at the hour of 10 :00 o1cloc A.M. , being the time set for the hearing on Resolution No. C -738, providing for the improvement of certain streets in De Atley Park Addition by grading surfacing, and constructing concrete curbs and gutters, and said 'nearing having been postponed until this date, and said property owners living on South First Avenue, South Second Avenue, and Broadway from Campbell Avenue to Peach Street having filed a petition of protest against the construction of concrete sidewalks in said district: It is ordered that the ordinance creating a .Local Improvement District be passed as read, with the elimination of that portion of the sidewalk construction as above set forth: carried, Buck, Bishop, and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -796, providing for the improvement of property in the City of Yakima, Washington, by the improvement of certain streets therein;-establishing a Local Improve- ment District, providing for the method of payment therefor and creating a special fund. Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that Ordinance No. B -796 be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by ,Clark that this being the time for receiving bids for an automobile for the Health Dept. and none being received, the Purchasing Agent is here- by authorized to proceed to purchase a car for said department: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the payrolls for the month of July, 1947, be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Various Depts. $5902.85; Fire Dept. $11 930.00; Police Dept. $10,592.57; Engineering $2468.00; Health,," Dept. `1250.00; Library 1903.80; Irrigation $935.00; F.R. & P. $1997.30; P.R. & P. $395. .00; Cemetery $230.00; Street $360.00; Water $'7363.43: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
