SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Per the City's Charter, the appointment by the Charter Civil Service Commission needs to be ratified by
the City Council. The Yakima Symphony may appointment a member to the Arts Commission, which is
ratified by the City Council Per Ordinance 2010-01.

SUBJECT: Charter Civil Service Commission
Charter Civil Service Commissioner Melanie Gilmore's current term will expire
June 1, 2014. Per the City of Yakima City Charter, this position is to be
appointed from a list of names submitted to the Council by the other two Civil
Service Commissioners.
At this time we nominate Melanie Gilmore for re -appointment. We choose to
submit no other names to for consideration.
Melanie has been contacted about her term for the Charter Civil Service
Commission expiring on June 1, 2014. If approved by Council, she states she
would be happy to accept the reappointment.
