A RESOLUTION declaring a 2000 Ford R10 Pick up VIN 1FTRZR1XXYPA63067, a 1997
Nissan Maxima VIN JN1CA21DXVT816374, a 1998 Honda Accord VIN
1HGC5658WA025337, a 1999 Ford Expedition VIN
1FMPU18L6XLC33845, and a 2000 Dodge Durango VIN
1B4HS28Z6YF173670 to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima
and the Police Department and authorizing sale of these vehicles by public
auction.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns one 2000 Ford R10 pickup VIN
1FTRZR1XXYPA63067, one 1997 Nissan Maxima VIN JN1CA21DXVT816374, one 1998
Honda Accord VIN 1HGC5658WA025337, one 1999 Ford Expedition VIN
1FMPU18L6XLC33845, and one 2000 Dodge Durango VIN 1B4HS28Z6YF173670 which have
aged to the extent that it is no longer cost effective to operate them and they have no
foreseeable use and which are surplus.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the City to sell
said vehicles, now therefore:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned vehicles to be surplus to the
needs of the City of Yakima and the Police Department and the City Manager is hereby
authorized and directed to sell said vehicles by whatever means he determines to be
appropriate.

the needs of the City of Yakima and the Police Department and authorizing sale
of these vehicles by whatever means determined appropriate by the City
Manager

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The Yakima . Police Department Narcotics Unit has a 2000 Ford R10 pickup VIN
1FTRZRIXXYPA63067, a 1997 Nissan Maxima VIN JNICA21DXVT816374, a 1998 Honda
Accord VIN 1 HGC5658WA025337, a 1999 Ford Expedition VIN 1 FMPU18L6XLC33845, and a
2000 Dodge Durango VIN 1 B4HS28Z6YF173670 that have aged to the extent that it is no longer
cost effective to operate them. These vehicles were purchased using funds gained from the
forfeiture of drug proceeds and according to statute, will be offered for sale by public auction.
Funds realized from the sale would be credited to the Yakima Police Department Narcotics
Investigations Fund.
