R-2009-118 A RESOLUTION declaring a 1998 Ford Expedition to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the Police Department and authorizing sale of the vehicle by public auction. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns one 1998 Ford Expedition VIN 1FMPU18L1WLB14664 which has aged to the extent that it is no longer cost effective to operate it and has no foreseeable use and which is surplus. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the City to sell said vehicle, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned vehicle to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the Police Department and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sell said vehicle by whatever means he determines to be appropriate. Jay Seely / 509-576-6319 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: The Yakima Police Department Narcotics Unit has a 1998 Ford Expedition VIN 1 FMPU 18L1 WLB14664 that has aged to the extent that it is no longer cost effective to operate. This vehicle was purchased using funds gained from the forfeiture of drug proceeds and according to statute, will be offered for sale by public auction. Funds realized from the sale would be credited to the Yakima Police Department Narcotics Investigations Fund.
