R- 2014 -025 A RESOLUTION fixing the time and place of a hearing for March 18, 2014 at 6.30 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall to amend the 2014 through 2019 Six - Year Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). WHEREAS, the City of Yakima annually prepares, reviews and adopts a Six -Year Transportation Improvement Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima for the ensuing six year period, all as contemplated and required by State and Federal law, and WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has identified a need to amend the current Six Year Transportation Improvement Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima; and WHEREAS, a public hearing must be held on said amended program before final approval, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That said amended program shall be presented for hearing and determination on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the hour of 6:30 PM on said day, in the Council Chambers of the City of Yakima, at Yakima City Hall, Yakima, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may be heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as approved by law ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 18 day of February, 2014. /Jut // Micah Cawle ,/ , Mayor ATTEST: e fout ciz ep ■ City Clerk � x • I I ' %' `y/ aS \ \ . BUSINESS OF THE CITY COUNCIL YAKIMA, WASHINGTON AGENDA STATEMENT Item No. 9, For Meeting of: 2/18/2014 ITEM TITLE: Resolution setting the time and place for a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on March 18, 2014 regarding amending the Six- year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). SUBMITTED BY: Debbie Cook, PE, Director of Utilities & Engineering SUMMARY EXPLANATION: This action would set March 18, 2014 as the date for a public hearing to amend the six -year TIP. This TIP amendment is required to make selected projects eligible for expenditure of federal funds already in hand. The City of Yakima needs to amend the current Six -year TIP to: 1) redirect remaining federal funds previously awarded for Yakima Trolley to remove and replace a very poor section of YVT rail near Yakima Avenue on 6th Avenue; 2) add a new project, Powerhouse Road Sidewalk, that was recently awarded $275,000 for curb /gutter and sidewalk on Powerhouse from 800' west of Pecks Canyon Road to Cowiche Canyon Road.
