SUBMITTED BY: Randy Beehler, Communications & Public Affairs Director SUMMARY EXPLANATION: On February 10th, the Council Partnerships Committee (Ettl, Cawley, Adkison) heard a presentation from Yakima Union Gospel Mission representatives regarding that organization's plans to submit an application to the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco for a $1.5 million grant to be used to help fund an approximately $3 million project to expand the Mission's Long Term Residential Housing Complex and its Medical Care Center. At its February 10th meeting, the Council Partnerships Committee unanimously recommended the City Council approve a letter of support for the Yakima Union Gospel Mission for its grant application. This request complies with the City Council's policy on non-profit organization endorsement requests. The Yakima City Council values the tremendous asset that the Yakima Union Gospel Mission has been to our community since it first opened in 1936.
