SUBJECT: Weekly Issues Report
• COUNCIL PARTNERSHIP COMMITTEE: This Committee (Cawley, Adkison, and
Coffey) will be meeting on Monday, October 21 at 9:15 a.m. in the Mayor/Council
office to discuss board and commission vacancies.
• COUNCIL STUDY SESSION: The City Council has a study session on Monday,
October 21 at 10:00 a.m. The first hour will be reviewing the proposed 2014 budget.
Crandall Arambula and Thomas Consultants will review the Downtown Master Plan
with Council after the budget discussion.
• RIVER ROAD DEDICATION: On Tuesday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. there will be a
dedication of the River Road project. In addition to members of the Freight Mobility
Strategic Investment Board, area business representatives, and various delegates
will be at the celebration.
• COUNCIL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE: This Committee (Bristol,
Coffey and Lover) will be meeting on Thursday, October 24 at 1:30 p.m. in the 2nd
floor conference room.
• LEGISLATIVE RECEPTION: Senators and Representatives from the 13, 14, and
15 districts will be at a reception with Council at the Hilton Garden Inn on Thursday,
October 24 from 6:00 — 8:00 p.m. This is an opportunity for Council to discuss the
legislative priorities, both state and federal, that were adopted. Jim Justin will also
be at the reception.
• COUNCIL PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE: This Committee (Cawley, Adkison, and
Ettl) will be meeting on Friday, October 25 at 10:00 a.m. in the 2nd floor conference
room.
• CITY MANAGER LEAVE: I will be out of the office Friday, October 18. Debbie
Cook will be the Acting City Manager in my absence.
