April 10, 1933
-The City Commission met inzegular ;session, Mayor Stratton and Commissioners Washburn and
Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Stratton, seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Mon-
day, April 3rd, 1933'and adjourned meetings thereof be approved as read: carried, Strat-
ton,. Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Proved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that the following applications for permission to
sell beer be granted and the City Clerk authorized to issue licenses as.follows: carried,
Stratton,.Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.

ADJOURNrn MEETING, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12, 1933, 9 A.M.
The City Commission net pzrsuant tD ad.journment..J. 0. Evans was summoned to appear and ex-
plain his answer to Questions (a) and (b) on.Application No. 60, heretofore made by him
on-the 10th day of April, 1933, for permission to sell draft and bottled beer to be con-
sumed on the premises at No. 112 East Chestnut Street in the City of Yakima, which
questions read as follows: "Have you or any.of your associates in business been convict -
ed.in any court of a violation of any City ordinance or State or.Federal law or forfeited
a bond for any alleged violation of such ordinance, state or federal .law. If so, state
nature of charge and when and where made ", and to which questions said Evans answered
"Noll,
Chief of Police Harold Robinson presented a record of arrests and convictions agains
said Evans as follows: "Record of Jack Evans, alias J. 0. Evans, alias Martin DeBuhr.
Feb. 25, 1929, Yakima Police Court, charged loitering, _fine $$50.00.
July 6,1929, Yakima Police Court, charged illegal possession of intoxicating liquor
Forfeited $100.00 bail.
Nov. 18, 1930, Cascade Precinct, Judge Watkins' Court, charged possession of intoxi-
cating liquor with intent,to sell. Entered plea of guilty and was
fined x$400.00 and ninety-days in the.county jail, the ninety days to
be suspended after fine was paid.
Jan. 3,. 1933, Arrested by Federal authorities for violation of National Prohibition
Law. Case still pending. Mr. Evans•being out on $500.00 bail.
Upon being confronted with the above record, Mr. Evans, who was accompanied by his
counsel, Mr. Willis and his landlord, Mr. F.-P. Mullins, admitted that said report was
correct and that he had falsofied his statements on the application heretofore referred
to.upon the advise of another party. After consideration of the above information, it
was moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark and-unanimously voted by the Commission that Mr.
Evans be given an oppurtunity to return the license issued -to him to operate said beer
parlor to the City Clerk and receive a refund therefore in the amount of said license
and upon his failure to do so, that said license be revoked by the-City Commission.
Ilov'ed by Stratton, seconded by Washburn that we do now adjourn to meet Thursday, April
13th, 1933 at 9 o'clock A. M: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call .
Moved by Stratton, seconded by Washburn that the City Clerk is hereby directed to give
written notice to Mrs. Joe Colombo, directing her to appear before the City Commission
on Tuesday, April 18th, 1933 at 2 o'clock P.,M. to show cause why her restaurant license
No. 764 heretofore issued on the 28th day of December, 1932.should not be revoked:
carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting.aye on roll call.
Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that License No. 924, heretofore issued to J. 0.
Evans,.to sell draft and bottled beer at 112.East Chestnut Street on the 10th day of
April, 1933 be and the same is hereby revoked: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark
voting aye on roll. call.
;vioved by Washburn, seconded by Stratton that the following claims be allowed and the
City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: carried, Stratton, Washburn and
Clark voting aye on roll call.
