The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Stratton and Commissioners Washburn
and Clark present on roll call.
Moved:by Stratton, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Tuesday,
September 6th, 1932 be approved as read: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting
aye -on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that the Cascade Coal Co. be given the contract
for furnishing the coal for the year 1933, for the sum of $5.61 per ton: carried,
Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call..
RESOLUTION NO. 0-49, WHEREAS, on the 12th day of September, 1927, the City of Yakima,
Washington, entered into a certain contract with the Northern Pacific Railway Company,
a corporation of the State of Wisconsin, as vendor, and, the City of Yakima, a municipal
corporation, of the State of Washington, as purchaser, for the following described
tract of land situate in the County of Yakima.. and State of Washington, to -wit:
That portion of the west half of northwest quarter of
northeast quarter (W-5-of NW4ofNE4) of Section thirty (30)
in Township thirteen (13) North of Range nineteen (19)
East of the Willamette Principal Meridian, described
as follows Commencin at the northwest corner of the
northeast quarter (NE 4) of said Section thirty (30)°
thence east along the north .line thereof thirty (30�
feet; thence south, parallel with the west line thereof,
thirty (30) feet to-:the point of beginning of the tract
herein agreed to be sold; thence south, parallel with
and distant thirty (30) feet east of the west line of
the northeast quarter (NE-L14) aforesaid, six hundred seventy -
seven (677) feet; thence east, parallel with the
north line of said northeast Quarter (NE4), six
hundred.forty three (643) feet, more or less, to the
east line of the west half of northwest quarter of
northeast quarter (W2ofNW4ofNE4) of said Section
thirty -(30); thence north along said east line six
hundred seventy -seven (677) feet, more or less, to
a point thirty (30) feet south of the north line of
said northeast quarter (NE4); thence west along a
line parallel with and distant thirty (30) feet south
of said north line of northeast quarter (NE4), six
hundred thirty -eight (638) feet, more or less, to the
point of beginning, containing ten (10) acres, more
or less; subject to an easement in the public for
any public road heretofore laid out or established
or now existing over and across any part of the
premises, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable by the City Commission of the City
of Yakima, to assign said contract to the Northern Pacific Railway, a corporation, as
aforesaid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA, that the .
City Commission of the City of Yakima, Washington, does hereby assign, transfer and is et
over unto the Northern Pacific Railway Company, a corporation, its successors and
assigns, that certain contract dated September 12th, 1927, conveying the above described
property to the City of Yakima, Washington, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute an assignment of contract on behalf of the City of Yakima, for
said premises.
ADOPTED, SIGNED and APPROVED by the CITY COMMISSION this 12th da3
of September, 1.932.

RESOLUTION NO. 0-50, WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington is
desirous of constructing State Road No. 3 on each side and through the City of Yakima
and is desirous of routing the traffic on said State Road throught'ithe City of Yakima
over South First Street and North First Street and crossing other certain streets and
public thoroughfares, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington its
desirous,of receiving Federal Aid for the improvement of said highway, and
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of AgricuJl-
ture of the United States of America will not participate in the construction of said
highway until and unless the City of Yakima will agree to refrain from permitting end.

limit of under 25 miles per hour on said above mentioned streets, and until and unless

above mentioned streets.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Commission of the
City-of Yakima that for and in consideration of the Department of Highways of the State
of Washington and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Agriculture of they
United States of America, constructing said State Road and routing traffic on the same
through the City of Yakima, over South First Street and North First Street and crossing

other certain streets and public thor.oughfares, it hereby agrees with the DePartment.of
Highways of the State of Washington and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of
Agriculture of the United States of America that it will not, in the future,.permit en-
croachments on the right of way of said above mentioned streets, nor will it pass any
ordinances or laws fixing.a speed limit on the above mentioned streets.of under 25 miles
per hour, nor will it allow the erection of signs, semaphores and. signals that will give
preference to local routes which intersect with said above mentioned streets or that will
slow up, hinder or delay traffic on said above mentioned streets._
PASSED the City Commission of the City of Yakima, Yakima, County, Wash-
ington, this 12th day of September, A. D. 1932.
