Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, July 25th, 1932 be approved as read: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. moved by Washburn, seconded by.Stratton that.the payrolls for the month of July, 1932 be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Various Dept. $2333.31; Health Dept. $1773.16; Engineering $800.00; Fire Dept. x$5153.33; Police Dept. $3535.16; Library $693.34; Fixed Estimate $150.00; Irrigation $333.32; Cemetery $135.00; L.I.D. Revolving $150.00; F. R. & P.1113.75; Park $440.06 and Water Dept. $4063.32: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. moved by Clerk, seconded by Washburn that the canvass of returns of the Special Election held on the 29th day of July,. 1932,for, the purpose of voting on the question of whether or not William Wesley Stratton should be recalled and discharged from his office as Mayor of the City of Yakima, is hereby accepted and approved: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. CANVASS OF TTE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON, ON THE 29th DAY OF JULY, 1932, FOR THE PURPOSE OF VOTING ON THE QUESTION OF WHETHER OR NOT WILLIAM WESLEY STRATTON SHOULD BE RECALLED FROM THE OFFICE OF MAYOR.OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON. I, Pearl Benjamin, the duly appointed, qualified and acting Clerk of the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, and charged by law with the duty of canvass- ing the votes cast at the special election held on the 29th day of July 1932:, for the purpose of voting on the question of whether or not William Wesley Stratton should be recalled and discharged from his office as Mayor of the City of Yakima, Washington, do hereby certify that I have carefully and completely canvassed the returns at'said elec- tion; that the number of votes cast for and against the proposition is as follows, to -wit: FOR the recall of William Wesley Stratton ................ 2031 d AGAINST the recall of William Wesley Stratton............ 2282 I therefore find and determine f rom the. above and f oregoing canvass and total that said proposition "FOR the recall of William Wesley Stratton" failed to carry, and that William Wesley Stratton shall not be recalled and discharged from his office as Mayor of the City of Yakima.
