The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Stratton and Commissioners Washburn) II
and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Tuesday,
july 5, 1932 be approved. as read: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on
roll call..
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that the claim of Helen Faringer and Floyd Fariniger,
wife and husband, in the sum of $5450.00 for damages alleged to have been sustained biy
reason of Helen Faringer falling into an open ditch on North Sixth Avenue; which had
been made by The Texas Company and the Yakima Cement Products Co. is hereby rejected:
carried, Stratton, ,Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. 0-)=5, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKTMA, WASHINGTON:
Section 1. That at the special election to be held in the City of
Yakima, Washington, on the 29th day of July, 1932, for the purpose of voting on the
question of whether or not WILLIAM WESLEY STRATTON'shall be recalled and discharged from
his office as Mayor of the City of Yakima, Washington, the polling places shall be as

OFFICIAL BALLOT
CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON
SPECIAL RECALL ELECTION JULY 29, 1932.
"William Wesley Stratton, Mayor of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, is charg-
ed with acts of malfeasance or misfeasance in office and of having violated his oath lof
office, as follows:
1. About November 1931, he caused th appointment of Arthur A. Krueger, as
Police Chief of Yakima, knowing him to be incompetent, of bad moral character and unfit
to hold such position.
2. February 7th, 1932, he caused th unlawful arrest and imprisonment of Wi.
Mo Snyder, and on numerous occasions caused said Arthur A. Krueger to 'wrongfully,. illeg-
ally and without warrant of law arrest' and imprison innocent citizens from one to thirty
days, refusing counsel and bail. '
3. He caused Arthur A. Krueger.to defame the character of W. M. Snyder byi
falsely 'charging in writing and sending through the mails the allegation�.,that said
Snyder had been living with a woman not his wife' and was 'wanted by the police.'
4. He refuses adequate fire and police protection to "Fruit Row ".
5. Since November 9, 1931, he has knowingly '.permitted houses of prostitution
to openly operate' and 'intoxicating liquor to be openly and notoriously sold in viollatio
of the law'.
6. He 'fails, refuses and neglects to co- operate with fire protection offii-
c ials.10
