HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/21/1932 Business Meeting & 3/23/1932 Adjourned Meeting�1 C 11 March 21, 1932 The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Stratton and Commissioners Washburn and Clark present on roll call. 1Aoved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, March 14th, 1932 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, sedonded by Stratton that the City Engineer having reported the com- pletion of the improvement of constructing a sewer on South 9th and South 10th Streets, in Local Improvement District No. 501, by the Contractor, H. Huston, in the sum of $2,731.98 said work is hereby accepted and the City Engineer authorized to prepare an assessment roll for said. district and the City Clerk to give notice of hearing by publi- cation on said roll for Monday, April 11th, 1932 at 9 o'clock A-.�.^ M.: carried, Stratton, Clark and 'Mashburn voting aye on roll call. Moved by Washburn, seconded by Stratton that the following payrolls be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants'as follows: Street Dept. $983.50; Cemetery, $150.00; Cemetery Care $40.00; Park $107.00; Race Street Drain $232.00 and Water Dept. $1,033.00; carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that we do now adjourn to meet Wednesday, March. 23rd, 1932 at 9 o'clock A. M: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. ADJOURNED MEETING, MARCH 23, 1932, 9 A. M. ORDINANCE NO. B -29, entitled, "An Ordinance providing for the making of certain exten- sions to and betterments of the existing water works system of the City of Yakima, Wash- ington; for the purpose of increasing the efficiency of said system and diminishing the cost of operation thereof; specifying and adopting the system or plan proposed; declar- ing the estimated cost thereof as near as may be.and providing for.payment. therefor by the-issuance of special revenue bonds not to exceed the sum of Sixty thousand dollars and fixing the terms thereof, said bonds to be payable only out of a fund to be created and established for the payment of the same by setting aside therefor, out of the gross revenues of said water works, a fixed amount without regard to any fixed proportion thereof; and declaring an emergency," was introduced by Washburn and read by the City Clerk: Loved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that Ordiiince No. B -29 be passed to its second read- ing and read by title only: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. YESOL-UTION Y10. .G -37a,- Whereas, Ordinance No.. B. =.29_, passed,by the City Commission March 23rd; 1923, provided ,for .the issuance of Water. Revenue bonds for the purchase of certain cast-iron pipe to be installed in the municipal water system of the City of Yakima, and WHEREAS, in the "Municipal Water Fund " "of said city there is now a sufficient sur- plus-6frc9sh to pay for the installation of such pipe, and WHEREAS, it is desirable to use such surplus for the installation of said pipe; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA, that said surplus or so much thereof as may be necessary be set aside and held apart for the purpose of providing funds for the installation of such pipe as may be acquired from the bond issue as pro- vided in' said Ordinance No. B -29 -.
