Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark, that the minutes of the regular meeting.of Monday, December 9th,1929, and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read;carried, Stratton,Clark and Traub voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO:.B- 1108,A Resolution designating Geo.77.C1ark to be Superintendent of- Finance and. Accounting and Henry Traub to -be Superintendent of.the.Department of Streets and Public Improvements for the terry_ of three years, corl,.rnencinv on the 16th day of Decernber,1929, or until their successors have been duly elected and have qualified.. WIIFRE'AS, Geo,.'W.Clark and Henry Traub were .d.uly elected commissioners of the City of Yakima,','ashington, under and pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 116, of the Session Laws of.1911, at the regular municipal election -held in the City of Yakima;,7ashingt-on, on the 2nd day of Dece:r_ber,1929, and have taken the oath of office as provided for by law, and. the official bonds of the said corMissioners in'the amount provided for by law having been approved by a judge of the Superior Court of Yakima County;`P7ashing',ton, and. thereafter filed. in the office of the clerk of said Superior Court of Yakit,,ba County, Washington, and „TEREAS, Section 12, of Chapter 116 of the Session Laws of 1911, provides that the City Commission shall at the first regular meeting after the election of its members, designate by a majority vote one-commissioner to be Superintendent of Finance and Accounting and one coirm.issioner to be Superi.nte'ndent of the Departi °lent of . Streets and Public Improvements; NOW, TI�REFOR,E, BE IT ,,SOLVED, by the City Commission of the City of Yakima, t'?at Geo.'W. Clark be,-and--he is hereby designated to be Superintendent of- Finance and Accounting to hold office for the term of three years from and after the 16th day of Decenber,1929, or until his successor is duly elected and has qualified. Be it further resolved, that Henry Traub be, and he is hereby designated to be Superintendent of the Department of Streets_ and Public Improvements, t o .hold office for the term of three years from and after the 16th day of December,1929, or until his successor is duly elected. and has qualified. This resolution being required. to be made by the laws of the State of Washington, and being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety,and an emergency existing therefor, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage. Sulliva.n,Chief of Police;Pearl Benjamin,City Clerk and Ray ti,Tashburn, City Treasurer all of the above appointees to hold office during the pleasur of the City Cor nmission;carried,Stratton,Clark and Traub voting aye on roll call. Moved by Traub, seconded by Clark that the bids on fire apparatus and equipment be tabulated by the Fire Chief and reported on Hionday, Dece:Lber 23rd,1929; carried, Stratton,Clark and Traub voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark,seconded by Traub, that the office of Purchasing Agent be created and. Geo.-',+d-Clark be appointed Purchasing Agent, said appointment to be confirmed by Ordinance, at a later date;carried,Stratton, Clark and Traub voting aye on roll call. The nomination of C deVe.re Fairchild for the position of City Engineer made by Henry Traub was voted down by ,'I.W.Stratton and. Geo.',d.Clark. Loved by Clark, seconded by Stratton, that C.E.Crownover be appointed to the position of City Engineer to serve from and after .December 2.34d,1929, until his successor is duly appointed and. has qualified;carried,Stratton and Clark voting aye on roll call Traub no. Moved by Clark,seconded by Traub, that the Plumbing Department be placed under the supervision of the Health Department, same to be provided for by ordinance at a later date;carried, Stratton,Clark and Traub voting aye on roll call.
