The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Dudley and Commissioners: Hedges and Coonse voting aye on roll call. moved by Dudley,seconded by Hedges, that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, December 2nd,1929, and adjourned' meeting thereof 'be approved as read;ca.rried,Du.dley, Hedges and Coonse voting aye on roll call. Moved by Coonse, seconded by Hedges, that this being the time for bids to be received for paving South Firs-t Avenue in Local Improvement District No.475, and the John Dower ,Lumber Company one of the property owners affected by said' district having served an injunction and restraining order on the City Cocmissioners,-restraining said commission for going ahead with said work; it is ordered that the bids received be filed and a further hearing had on said matter on Monday', December 23rd,1929, at 9 o!clock A.M. carried,Dudley,Hedges and. Coonse voting aye on roll call'. RESOLUTION NO.3- 1107,WHEREAS, a subway has been constructed at the point where Walnut Street of the City of Yakima crosses the tracks of the Northern Pacific Railway Codipany which subway was constructed at the joint expense of said City and of said Company; and WITEREAS, it is necessary that lighting other than the usual street lighting be installed at and maintained for such viaduct. NOW, TH13REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COTEfiISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA,,WASHINGTON: That the 'Mayor and City 'Clerk of said City be and they are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima with the Northern Pacific Railway Company, a corporation, providing that the'lights upon said viaduct'shall be controlled by a switch-located in the polic station of said City and that a separate meter therefor shall be kept and that said City and said Company shall each pay one half'of the cost df the power for such lights,,the City, in the first, place, to make such payments at such times as are required by the company furnishing such power, and to bill said Railway Company' therefor semi - annually for one half of such charge for the last preceding six months, and further providing that said City and said Company shall each-pay one half of the cost of maintenance of said lights and of all* fixtures and. equipment thereunto belonging and replacements thereof ADOPTED by the City Commission this 9th dad- of December,1929.
