That it is the intention of the City of Yakima,71ashington, to improve the
south side of Division Street by the construction of a Portland cement concrete si dew
five feet in width extending from Ninth Avenue South to Tenth Avenue South, and by d.oi:
all such other work as may be necessar.- in connection therewith, all in accordance wit
plans,profiles and. specifications therefore to be , prepared by the City Engineer and
filed with the City Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are
hereby .,notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting of the City Commiss
ion'to be held at its office in the City Office Building in the City of Yakima,Washing
ton, at the hour of nine o'clock A.M. on Monday, the 24th day of June,1929, which time
and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed
improveir,ent, all objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment therefo
and. the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and. of, the
intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost anc expense of said improvement shall be borne by and assessed.
against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor, as provided by
law, and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission, at or
prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information
required by law-to be submitted by hind.

WASHINGTON,JUNE 4th,1929.
ale, the undersigned, members of the City Commission of the City 'of Yakima,
Washington, having met as a. canvassing board on the first Monday following the ST)ecial
Municipal election held. on the 4th day of June,1929,t•o- wit,on Monday, the 10th day of
June,1929, at the hour of 9 o'clock A.M. for the purpose of canvassing the returns of
said Special Municipal election, do now hereby certify that we have carefully and com-
pletely canvassed the returns of all the votes cast at said Special Municipal election
for and. against the proposition submitted to the voters for "granting to The Pacific
Telephone and Telegraph Company, its successors and assigns, the right to do a general
telephone and telegraph business within the City of Yakima,Washington, and the right t,
place, erect,lay,maintain and. operate in, under and. upon the street s,alleys,avenues,
thoroughfares and public highways in said City of Yakima,poles,wires,cables and other
appliances and conductors for the transmission of electricity for telephone and.
telegraph purposes for a period of 25 years as provided by the terr:.,s of Ordinance
No.A -1145, of said City of Yakima, granting to said The Pacific Telephone and Telegrapl
Company said franchise, and passed by said City Commission on the 22nd day of April,
1929, and hereby submitted to the qualified voters of said City for their authorizatio
and approval or rejection, which said franchise and. proposition is to be as more fully
set forth in said Ordinance No-A-1145 of said City, and said ordinance being the one

hereby submitted and voted upon ", and we do find from -t -he returns and votes cast at
said Special Municipal Election, that the number of votes cast in favor of and against
the above proposition submitted in the several voting precincts of said city, is as
follows,to -wit:

returns that the total number of votes cast as said Special Municipal election was
657, and the total number of votes cast in favor of the above proposition was 606,
and the total number of votes, cast against the above proposition was 51, and we
further find and determine from the above and foregoing canvass, that the said. pro-
position received a sufficient number of votes-at said Special Municipal election to
carry the same, and we do hereby declare-and certify that said.`. proposition carried.
