of block 330 of Capitol Addition to the City of Yakima, in exchange for the conveyanc

RESOLUTION NO. 1075, A RESOLUTION providing for the creation of a special fund. to be
used, in connection with the special election to be held in the City of Yakima on
Tuesd.ay,June 4,1929, submitting to the voters of said City an ordinance granting a
franchise to The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company, and designating the name of
such .fund.
:t1IZIRRAS, by Ordinance No-A-1146 of the City of Yakima, it is provided that a
special election shall be held therein on Tuesday,June 4,1929, for the purpose of
submitting to the qualified voters of said City for ratification or 'rejection, an
ordinance granting a franchise to The Pacific Telephone and. T61e - graph Company, a cor-
poration, its successors and assigns to do a general telephone and telegraph business
and to place, maintain and operate in the streets of said City its poles,wires and
other equipr,,ent for the transmission of electricity for telephone and, telegraph pur-
poses; and.
WHEREAS, under the laws of the State of Washington, said applicant for such
franchise is required to _reimburse said. City for the expenses of such election, and
it is deemed necessary that a special fund be created in connection therewith.
NOW, THER.170!:0, 'BR. IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIVA,
WASI INGTON:
That a special fund. is hereby created. to be known as "The Pacific Telephone
and.'Telegraph Company Franchise Fund," and. all sums, received by the City of Yakima
from said The Pacific Telephone and. Telegraph Company, or otherwise for use in
connsect - ion with said. special election shall be placed in said, special fund., and all
disbursements made or toirbe made in connection with said special election and in
connection with the voting upon said franchise shall be made and paid from said opeci
f un d. .

RESOLUTION NO.B- 1076,BE IT RRSOLVED BY THE CITY COTEJISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKITTIA,
1"IASH ING T ON :
That it is the intention of the City Commission of the City of Yakima,
Washington, to improve west Chestnut Street from Seventeenth Avenue South to Twenty
Eighth Avenue South, and Eighteenth Avenue South from 'lest Yakima Avenue to West
Chestnut Street by. grading, and paving the same with a one course Portland. Cement
concrete pavement, or with a Vibrolithic concrete pavement or with. a pavement having
a Portland. cement concrete base and. a bituminous concrete wearing surface, the pave-
ment on West Chestnut Street to be 24 feet in width from Seventeenth Avenue South
to Twentieth Avenue South and to bb,--12 feet in width from Twentieth Avenue South to
Twenty Eighth Avenue South, and, the pavement on Eighteenth Avenue South to be 20
feet in width; and by constructing concrete curbs along both sides of the pavement on
West Chestnut Street fro::. Seventeenth Avenue South to Twentieth Avenue South and. along
the north side of said. pavement from Twentieth Avenue South to Twenty Eighth Avenue
South and along both sides of the pavement on Eighteenth Avenue South; and by con-
structing a concrete side -walk along the west side of Eighteenth Avenue South from
Test Yakima Avenue to If9est Chestnut Street; and by constructing a re- inforced concrete
culvert at the intersection of West Chestnut Street and Eighteenth Avenue South; and
by constructing a reinforced concrete headworks for irrigation systems on West
Chestnut Street near Eighteenth Avenue South; and by constructing sewer connections
on West Chestnut Street between Seventeenth Avenue South and Twenty Third Avenue
South and by doing all such other work as may be necessary in connection therewl.th,
all in accordance with plans and specifications therefor to be prepared by the City
Engineer and. filed with the City 81erk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby -
notified. to appear arid present such objections at a meeting of the City Commission
to be held at its offices in the City Office Building in the City of Yakirna,Vlashingtor
at the hour of nine o'clock A.M. on Monday, the 20th day of 14ay,1929, which time and
place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed.

and. the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the

intention to make. the aforesaid improvement.
The costs and expenses of the said reinforced concrete culvert shal:l be
paid, from the general .Road and Bridge- fund. of said. City of Yakima.. . The costs and,
.expenses-of said' reinforced concrete headworks for irrigation systems shall be paid,
from the irrigat ion 'fund of, said City; and a -11 other costX or expenses of said
improvement shall .be: borne.. by. and assessed against all of the property legally and
properly - assessable therefor, as provided by. law, and the City Engineer is hereby
directed to submit to the City. Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for
said hearing, all of the data and other information .required by lave to be submitted
by him.
