Lloved by Coonse, seconded by Hedges, that the City Engineer having reported the com-
pletion of the improvement in Local improvement District No-459, by the contractor,
R . A. Geary, in the sum of $7568-7l; said. work, is hereby accepted and. the City Engineer-
authorized to prepare an assess.nient roll therefor and. the City Clerk instiruct:ed to
give notice of hearing on said, roll for Monday,l��tay 13th,1929, at 9 o'clock A.I+•"I.

pletion of the improvement in Local Improvement District No.460, by the contractor,

authorized to prepare an assessment roll for, said district and the City Clerk.

Artesian ',lell Company and Independent Ice and Fuel Company for the vacation of an
alley 20 feet in width running in a northerly and. southerly dixedtion through Block
293, a portion of which block is imbraced in Capitol Addition and a portion in
Ker's Addition was presented and upon careful consideration by the, City. CornTII;ssion
said petition was denied;carried,Dudley,Hedges and Coonse voting aye on roll call.

Telegraph Company, its successors and, assigns, the right to do a general telephone
and. telegraph business within the City of Yakima,Stat'e. of Washington, and the right
to place,erect,lay,rnaintain and. operate in, under and. upon the streets,alieys,
avenues,thoroughfare.s and public highways in said. City of Yakima,poles,wires,cables
and other appliances and. conductors for the transmission of electricity for telephone

election to be held. in the City of Yakima,on Tuesd.ay,June 4th,1929, for, the purpose
of submitting to the qualified voters of said City, an ordinance granting a franchise
to The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company, a corporation, its successors and
assigns, to d.o a general telephone and telegraph business and. to place,maintain and
operate in -the streets of said. City, its poles,wires and other equipment for the
transmission of electricity for telephone and telegraph purposes, and, declaring an
emergency ", was introduced. by Coonse and read by the City Clerk.

Moved by Coonse , seconded. by Hedges, that the applicat ion of Huggins & Kline for
permission to operate a carnival in the City of Yakima was postponed until Tuesday,
