May 14th,1928.
The City Commission met in 'regular session,Mlayor Dudley and Commissioners Hedges and.
Coonse voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Dudley, seconded. by Hedges, that the minutes of the regular meeting of
Monday,May 7th,1928, be approved as read;carried,Dudley,Hedges and Coonse voting aye
on roll call.
Moved by Coonse, seconded by Dudley, that the application of the Northern Pacific
Railway.Company dated. March 26th;i1928, to protect B and C Streets with signals operate
from a central control tower by the Railway Company, together with the blue print
accompanying same, is hereby allowed and the City.Clerk authorized to give notice of
acceptance of same to the Railway Company by written communication;carried,Dud.ley,
Hedges and Coonse voting aye on roll calla
Moved by Coonse, seconded by Hedges, that the application of the Union Pacific System
dated May 8th,1928, for a permit to change the crossing of the industrial spur track
across Elm Street, and the removal of two crossings on West C Street with the install-
ation of a new crossing in the latter street, is hereby permitted, and the City Clerk
instructed to give notice, of said permission to said Railway Company -by written
corrmunication gcarried.,Dudley,Hed.ges and ' Coonse voting aye .on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO.B- 1053,71HEREAS, it is necessary to improve the Municipal Water System of
the City of Yakii-a,`fi/ashington, byythe construction and completion of a reinforced.
concrete intake structure and a drop manhole-at the headworks of the -Municipal 'Vlater
System located in the North one hald of "Section 34,Township 15 North,Range 16,D1.171-1M.,
all in accordance with plans and specifications therefor prepared. by -the CitybE'ngineer
and. filed. in the office of the City Clerk;and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that work be done and materials be furnished for the
same;
NOW,TI-aE'REFORE, BE, IT RESOLVED BY -=3 ,CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA,
WASHINGTON, that the City Clerk give notice as required by the laws and statutes of
the State of Washington and the ordinances of the City of Yakima,Washington, that
sealed bids will be received up to�7,the hour of 10 o'clock A.M. on Monday, the 28th
day of May,1928, by the City Commission'a.t 'its offices in the City Office Building,
No.27 North Front Street in the City of 'Yakima,Washington, for furnishing all materials
and doing all the work necessary for the construction and. completion 'of a reinforced
concrete intake structure and. a drop manhole at the headworks of the Municipal Water
System located. in the North One half of `Section 34, Township 15 North, Range 16 E.W.M. ,
all in accodd.ance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City .
Engineer and. filed in the office of the City Clerk.
BE IT FURTIR RESOLVED that each 'proposal for the whole or any part of materials
and work required for this-:improvement must be made upon the proposal blank furnished
by the City Engineer and shall be enclosed in a special envelope and.'filed with the
City Clerk not later than the hour hereinabove stated;
Each proposal must be accompanied with cash, or •a •bank draft, certificate of
deposit; or certified check upon somb solvent bank, in an amount not less than five
per cent of the total amount of the 'proposalJ. which amount shall be forfeited. to the
City in the event that the proposal covered, thereby is accepted by the City and the
bidder shall neglect or refuse to enter into a contract with the City, and give bond
with approved sureties for the performance of the work and the furnishing of the
materials upon which such proposal is based and in accordance with the maps,profiles,
plans,detail drawings and specifications therefor, in case a contract is awarded to
him.

publication as required by law for furnishing all material and doing all. work necessa
for the construction and completion of a reinforced concretenintake structure and.a

on Monday, May 28th,1928, at 10 o'clock -A.M. carried,Dud.ley,Hed.ges and Coonse voting
aye on roll call.

FURTHER RESOLVED
that a full copy of all maps,profiles,plans,detail
be from the City Enginee
drawings and
specifications for
this improvement
can obtained
upon deposit
of the sum of $5.00,
which'sum will
be refunded upon the return of all
drawings and
specifications in
good condition if
accompanied by the proposal;and
BE IT
FURTHER RESOLVED
that the City may
reject any and all proposals.
