The City Commission met in regular sess-ion., Mayor Riley and Commissioner Clark present
on roll call, Washburn absent.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
June 19th, 1939 and adjourned meetings thereof be approved as read: carried, Riley
and Clark voting aye on roll call, Washburn absent.
Moved by Clark, seconded by.Riley that this being the time for the hearing on Resolu-
tion No. C -415 providing for the construction of curbs and gutters in Stanley Park and
other streets in said city and there being a protest by the property owners abutting
on 28th, 29th, 30th, 34th Avenues and Stanley Boulevard between West Chestnut Street
and Tieton Drive; it is ordered that said. prooertyy be eliminated from the project and
the ordinance creating a .local improvement district for the balance of the property
Included in said district be passed as finally read: carried, Riley and Clark voting
aye on roll call, Washburn absent.
ORDINANCE NO. B -388, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of property
in the City of Yakima, Washington, by the construction of concrete curbs and gutters;
establishing a local improvement district; providing for the method of payment there-
for; and creating a special-fund", was introduced by Riley and. read by the City Clerk.

ORDINANCE NO. B -389, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. B -360, entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE regulating and licensing the preparation, marketing, handling and sale
of meat and meat products intended for human consumption and the wholesaling thereof,
providing penalties, and declaring an emergency", providing penalties, and declaring
an emergency,11 was introduced by Riley and read by the City Clerk.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -399 be passed. to its second
reading and read by title only: carried, Riley, W a.shburn and Clark voting aye on
roll call.

Section 4 of Ordinance No. B -141, entitled "AN ORDINANCE regulating a.nd licensing the
preparation, marketing and sale of meats intended for human consumption; defining.of-
fenses, providing penalties and. repealing Ordinance No. B -57 and Ordinance No.-A -65,
and declaring an emergency ", as amended by Ordinance No. B -359, and repealing Section
3 of said. Ordinance No. B -359, and declaring an emergency ", was introduced by Riley
a,nd read by the City Clerk.

Policemens' Civil Service Board; said service to be fora period of six years, beginning
