The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Riley and Commissioners Washburn.
and. Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
June 5th, 1939 be approved as read: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye' on
roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by,Wa.shburn that this being the time for the hearing on Reso-
lution No. C -408, which was continued from May'22nd, 1939 to this date, which resolu-
tion provided for the vacation of the alley described as the'North 25 feet of the West
270 feet of Lot 4, Leaming's Addition to North Yakima (now Yakima); it is hereby order-
ed that the petition heretofore filed with the City Clerk praying for the vacation of
the above described property be denied: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye
on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that this being the time for the hearing on the
assessment roll in Local Ifiprpvement District No. 549 providing for a cement sidewalk
on both sides of Fifth Avenue South from West Yakima' Avenue to West Chestnut Street
,and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said assessment roll or any
part thereof; it is ordered that the ordinance confirming said assessment roll and
every part thereof be passed as finally read: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark vot-
ing aye on roll call."
ORDINANCE NO. B -383, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering
Local Improvement District No: 549, as created and established by Ordinance No..B -378
of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima ", was introduced by Clark and read by the City
Clerk.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Riley that Ordinance No. B -383 be passed to its second
reading and read by title only: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Riley that Ordinance No. B -383 be passed to its third
reading and read in full: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.

ORDINANCE NO. B_3841 entitled, "AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City
of Yakima, Washington', of certain property contiguous to'the present boundaries of
said City ", was introduced by Riley and read by the City Clerk.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -384 be passed to its second
reading and read by title only: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -384 be passed to its third
reading and read in full: carried, Riley, 'Mashburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.

RESOLUTION NO..0 -417, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON:
That it is its intention to construct a pipe sewer with the
necessary wye branches, manhole, flush'ta.nk and water connections, to serve the follow -
ing described district:
Lots I to 7, inclusive, of Block 1
Edson's Second. Addition to Yakima;
said improvement to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications
to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the
City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima,, Yaki-
ma County, Washington, at the hour of ten o'clock A. M., on Monday, the 3rd day of
July, 1939, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing on all matters re-
lating to said proposed improvement or- objections thereto, and for determining the
method of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice
of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said imorovement shall be distribured
as follows: The labor shall be furnished by the Works Progress Administration, and
the balance of the cost and expense in connection therewith shall be levied a,nd.assess-
ed against the property included in the district, as is legally and properly assessable
therefor as provided by law and_ as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby
directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said
hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted.

Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that upon the recomendation of the Fire Chief, Ray
Hare, the bid of Peter Pirsch Son & Company in the s um of $11,447.50 plus 2% Washing-
ton Sales Tax, or a total of $11,676.45 forifire equipment as per specifications pre-
pared by the Chief of the Fire Department is hereby accepted as the lowest and best
bid and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized. to execute a, contract for and
on behalf of the City of Yakima for the purchase of said equipment: carried, Riley,
Washburn and Clark v oting aye on roll call.

RESOLUTION NO. C-4-19, A RESOLUTION authorizing the improvement of certain streets in
the City of Yakima, Washington.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE.CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That the improvement of certain streets in the City of Yakima,
as shown by the accompanying map, by grading,. shaping, rolling and applying an Asphal-
tic Road Material, according to the State Department of Highways Standard Specifications
be and the same is hereby authorized under the provisions of Chapter 187 of the Laws
of 1937•

on this 15th day of June, 1939•
