The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Riley and Commissioners Washburn
and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Tuesday,
February 1.4th, 1939 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried, Riley,
Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded. by Washburn that this being the time for receiving bids for
the city printing for the ensuing year, the following were received; The Republic Pub-
lishing Company in the sum of 45 cents per inch, solid nonpareil type and the Yakima
Indep-end.ent Publishing Company in the sum of 44 cents per inch, solid nonpareil.. type;
It was moved to take said bids under advisement: carried, Riley, Washburn and. Clark
voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE. NO. B -369, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City
of Yakima., Washington, of certain property contiguous to the present boundaries of
said City ", was introduced by Clark and read by the City Clerk.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -369 be passed to its second
reading and read by title only: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.

ORDINANCE NO. B -370, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE providing for the borrowing of money by
the City of Yakima and issuing its negotiable, serial, interest- bearing, coupon bonds
therefor, for the purpose of paying the cost and expense of purchasing street and fire
equipment and for lighting and construction on the municipal airoort of said city; pre-
scribing the form of bonds and creating a fund to redeem said bonds and interest ", was
introduced by Washburn and read by the City Clerk.

Moved by Riley, seconded by Clark that the Yakima Independent Publishing Company be
awarded the contract for the city printing for the ensuing year, at the rate of 44 cent
per inch in solid non- pareil type: carried., Riley, Washburn and Clark voting a.ye on
roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -382, WHEREAS the City of Yakima is engaged in installing a lighting
system for the Municipal Airport, and
WHEREAS it is impreative that said lighting system be completed
by the .installation of a revolving beacon at the earliest possible moment to facilitate
the use and operation; of said Air-oort, and
WHEREAS, beacons of the type approved by the Civil Aeronautics
authority are of a uniform price,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that an emergency is hereby de-
clared to exist and the Purchasing Agent of said city is a.uthorized.to place an. order
for the immediate delivery of a thirty -six inch, two -way revolving beacon of an approv-
ed type for immediate delivery and installation.

ized to be sold to E. W. BOWMAN and MARY A BOWMAN, husband and,wife, for the total sum
of Two Hundred and. No /100 ($200,00) Dollars, payable as follows: the sum of Forty and
No /100 ($40.00) Dollars in cash unon the execution of the contract herein authorized
and the balance of One Hundred Sixty and No /100 ($160.00) Dollars in monthly payments
of Five and No /100 ($5.00) Dollars, beginning March 8, 1939, and. continuing until the
entire amount has been paid. All deferred payments to bear interest at the rate of
six per cent per annum payable monthly with principal payments.
The purchaser. under said contract shall also agree to pay all
assessments against said premises falling due under any Local Improvement District or
Districts hereafter created or arising from levies hereafter placed against said.
premises, and the Mayor and City Clerk of said City are hereby authorized and directed
to enter into a. contract in duplicate with said purchaser under the terms hereinabove
set forth.
Said agreement to be entered into shall also contain suitable
provisions requiring any buildings upon said premises to be insured at the expense of
the second pasties in a solvent insurance company sa.titfactory to first party as its
interest may appear and shall contain a provision that in case of destruction. of or
damage .to any buildings or improvements on said premises such damage or loss shall be
the loss of second. parties and shall not be a ground for rescission of said contract;
and said contract shall also contain a, suitable provision providing for .forfeiture
thereof upon failure of second party to make any payment of principal, interest, -taxes
or assessments therein provided for when same shall become due or delinquent, notice
of such forfeiture to be for 30 days and service thereof to be by serving same personal
upon second parties or by mailing to them at Yakima, Washington, and a further provisio
shall be placed therein that upon final payment of said principal and interest and taxe
and assessments the first party shall convey said premises to second parties by a good
and sufficient Quit Claim Deed conveying all the interest said City of Yakima has now
in said premises; and the further provision shall be contained in said contract pga.inst
