The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Temple and Commissioners Washburn
and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by.Temple, seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting.of Mon-
day, November 29th, 1937 and adjourned meetings thereof be approved as read: carried,
Temple, Washburn and'Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark; seconded by Washburn that this being the time for receiving bids on
piep, valves, etc.,-for the water department, the following awards were made; Pacific
States Waterworks Co. $5,664.69; Yakima Hardware Co. $1,439.10; Inland Pipe & Supply
Co $77.27; H. D. Fowler $159.79: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on
roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that this being the time for receiving bids on
the construction of a sewer in Lawson's Addition, the following were received: Concrete
J. M. DeBlasio, $927.50; Clay $1,277-50; Thos Dingle, Concrete $964.25; Inart Olson,
Concrete $1,215.00, Clay $1,361.25; H. J. Adler Construction Co:, concrete $946.00; W.
J. Longtin, Concrete $1,234.50; the contract was awarded to H. J. Adler Construction
Company in the sum of $946.00 and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a
contract upon the filing of a proper bond as required by law: carried, Temple, Wash-
burn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
-Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the following payrolls be allowed and the
City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Sanitation $780.15; Street Dept.
.$1,730.00; Parka $120.25; Cemetery $110.00; Cemetery Care $47.25; Water Dept. $597.60:
carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -259, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE relating to photographers, the business
of photography, and photographic sutdios; providing revenue and regulation through
license fees,. and a penalty for violation; repealing Ordinance No. B -139, and amend-
ments thereto of the ordinances of the City of Yakima, and all other ordinances in
conflict herewith; and declaring an emergency ", was introduced by Temple and read by
the City Clerk.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -259 be passed to its second
reading andrea.d by title only: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -259 be passed to tis third
reading and read in full: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance-No. B -259 be passed as finally
read: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that this being the time for the hearing on Reso-
lution No. C -292 for constructing a sidewalk on North Fourth Street from East F Street
to the north city limits and there being no protests in writing to said improvement
or any part thereof; it was ordered that,the ordinance creating a Local Improvement
District be passed as finally read: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye
on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -260, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of.certain
streets in the City of Yakima, Washington, by the construction of Portland cement con-
crete sidewalks, establishing a local improvement district; providing the method-of
payment therefor, and creating a special fund ", was introduced by Te'mple and read by
the City Clerk.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -260 be passed to its second
reading and read by title only: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on
roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -260 be passed to its third
reading and read in full: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -260 be passed as finally
read: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the City Clerk is hereby ordered to give
notice to contractors, by publication, as required by law for constructing a sidewalk
In Local Improvement District No. 525; said bids to be received on Monday, December
20th, 1937 at ten o'clock A. M: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by Temple; seconded by Clark that we do now adjourn: carried, Temple, Washburn
and Clark voting a.ye on roll call.
