Moved by Temple, seconded:by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, September 20th, 1937 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried, Tem- ple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Temple that the City Engineer having reported the comple- tion of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 515 by the contractor, J. M. DeBlasio, in the sum of $2,183.80; it is ordered that said improvement be accented and the City Engineer authorized to prepare an assessment roll for said district and the City Clerk directed to give notice of hearing on said roll by publication as re- quired by law for Monday, October 18th, 1937 at 10 o'clock A. M: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the application of Ernest Ellis for a. license to operate a Photographer's Gallery at the Arcade Shoppe on North Second Street to- gether with his bond in the sum of $$500.00 is hereby rejected and the City Clerk here- by directed to give notice of such action in writing to said applicant: carried, Tem- ple,. Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that we do now adjourn to meet Friday, October lst, 1937, at 9 o'clock A. M: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. ADJOURNED MEETING, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1, 1937,.9 A. M. Moved by Washburn, seconded by Temple that the payrolls for the month of September, 1937 are hereby allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Various Dept. $2,176.22; Inspectors $ P4-5�; .37• Health x$927.55• Fire $5,381.56• Police $$3,775.74; Engineer $644.62; Irrigation Library $578.40•'F. R. & P. $464.55; P. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that the Kennell -Ellis Photography Co. having asked for a. hearing to show cause why a license to operate a studio in the City of Yakima should not be granted it, appeared and were represented by counsel; the Photo- graphers Association was also represented by counsel and after hearing testimony on both sides of the controversy, it was moved to adjourn indefinitely for submission of further evidence in support of the contention for the issuance or rejection of said license: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that the claim of Della Benson, by Ernest Benson, her husband, in the sum of $15,100.00 for damages alleged to have been sustained by reason of-falling over a, hose alleged to have been across the sidewalk on the West side of Sixth Avenue in front of the High School, is hereby denied: carried, Temple, Wash- burn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
