Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, July 26th, 1937 and adjourned meetings thereof be approved as read: carried, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call, Temple absent. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that the following payrolls be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: carried, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call, Temple absent. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that this being the time for receiving bids for constructing a domestic water system in Local Improvement District No. 514, the fol- lowing were received: R. A. Geary $2,913.20; J. M. DeBlasio $2,365.25; A. S. Wilson $2,171.45; the bid.of A. S. Wilson being 'the lowest bid, said contract was awarded to him in the sum of $2,171.45: carried, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call, Tem- ple absent. RESOLUTION NO. C -270, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKINIA, WASHINGTON: That it is its intention to improve West Chestnut Street from 28th Avenue South to Grandview Avenue, 30th Avenue South from West Yakima Avenue to West Chestnut Street, and 31st Avenue South from West Chestnut Street to the'City Limits, by the construction of a concrete curb and gutter, and by doing all such other work as may be necessary in connection therewith, all in accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. The district to be served by and assessed for the above describ- ed improvement is described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the intersection of West Chestnut Street and 28th Avenue South; thence northerly along 28th Avenue South a distance of 137.5 feet; thence westerly parallel with West Chestnut Street a distance of 320 feet; thence northerly to West Yakima Avenue; thence westerly along West Yakima Avenue to a point half way between 30th Avenue South and Grandview Avenue; thence southerly a distance of 138.2 feet; thence westerly to Grand-' view Avenue; thence southerly along Grandview Avenue to the south line of Tract 6 of Grandview Half Acre Tracts; thence easterly along said south line a. distance of 145 feet; thence south 65 feet; thence easterly to the southeast corner of Lot 3 of De Foe Quarter Acres; thence northerly to the southwest corner of Tract 9 of Grandview Half Acre Tracts; thence easterly to the center line of 30th Avenue South; thence north 10 feet; thence easterly to 29th Avenue South; thence south to the south line of Lot 5 of.Nob Hill Orchard Heights; thence easterly to 28th Avenue South; thence northerly to the point of beginning. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of ten o'clock A. M., on Monday, the 23rd day of Aug - ust, 1937, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relat- ing to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. The cost and expense of said improvement shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as pro - bided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby direcyed to sub- mit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. RESOLUTION NO -..0 -271, WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Yakima that the director of hi.ghways purchase and erect all necessary - directional signs and route markers on the route of P.S.H. 3 and 5 within the corporate limits of Yakima: now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Yakima does hereby acknowledge that it will not satisfactorily accomplish and will delay and be unable to purchase and erect such directional signs and route markers on such City streets and waives notice of the director of highways thereof; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the firector of highways is request- ed -and permitted to purchase and erect such signs and markers to the amount of One Hun- dred and Fifty ($15070-OT—dollars, an amount not in excess of the amount of money now credited or reasonably anticipated to accrue to the City of Yakima in the motor vehicle fund during the next fiscal year, such suns and markers cost to be charged against F, 362 the amount so credited, or to be credited; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon statement of the cost of such directional signs and route markers and journal voucher therefor, approved by the City of Yakima, for all labor, equipment, materials, supplies and engineering, the State Auditor is authorized and directed to-reserve and credit to the department of highways in payment for such directional signs and route markers any funds credited or to be credited to the City of Yakima in the motor vehicle fund not to exceed the above speci- fied sum; all. in'accordance with the ?provisions of Chapter-197, Session Laws of 1937.
