The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Temple and Commissioners Washburn
and Clark presents-on roll call.
Moved by Temple, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
June lst, 1936 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as-read: carried, Temple, Wash-
burn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Temple, seconded by Washburn that the hearing on Resolution No. C -188 providing
for paving the alley in Block 4, Inglewood Addition, etc is hereby continued to :Monday,
,dune 15th, 1936 at 10 o'clock A. M: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on
roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that the following payrolls be allowed and the City
Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Secondary Highway Dept. $673.89; Street
Dept..$371.94; Sanitation Dept. $501.92; Parks $452.88; Cemetery $75.60; Cemetery Care.
$352.90: carried, Temple, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -191, BE�:IT'RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA,
WASHINGTON:.
. That it is its intention to improve Division Street from 16th
Avenue South to 20th Avenue South; 15th Avenue South from Division Street to West
Washington Street; 14th Avenue South from Division Street to West Washington Street;
13th Avenue South from West Walnut Streetto West Washington Street; 12th Avenue South
from Division Street to West Washington Street; Queen Avenue From Division Street to
West Washington Street; West Walnut Street from 12th Avenue South to 14th Avenue South;
West Spruce Street from 11th Avenue South to Holton Avenue and from 12th to 14th Avenue
South; Holton Avenue from West Spruce'Street to Division Street; Maclaren Street from
Pleasant Avenue to 16th Avenue South; and St. Helens Street from Pleasant Avenue to 16th
Avenue South; by grading and paving the same with a one course concrete pavement, the
pavement on Division Street to consist of an eight foot strip on either side of the ex-
isting pavement, the pavement on Maclaren Street and West Spruce Street to be 32 feet
in width and all other pavement in the district to be 24 feet in width; by constructing
the necessary- curbs, sidewalks, siphons and drains and by constructing a storm_ sewer or
drain on West Washington Street from Queen Avenue to 16th Avenue South and by doing all
such other work as may be necessary in connection therewith, all in accordance with the
plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City
Clerk.
The district to be served by and assessed for the above described
improvement is described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the intertection of Division
Street with the center line of the alley
between Pleasant Avenue and Queen Avenue;
thence south along the center line of said
alley'to West Washington Street; thence west
along West Washington Street to the alley
between 15th Avenue South and 16th Avenue
v' South; thence north along said alley to the
south line of Lot 3, Block 5 of Bonnie Brae
Addition; thence west along said south line
to 16th Avenue South; thence north along 16th
Avenue South to the south line. of Lot 19, Block
1, Hillcrest Addition; thence west parallel to
the south line of Division Street to 20th Avenue
South; thence north along 20th Avenue South to.
a point 300.5 feet north of the north line of
Division Street; thence east parallel with the
north line of Division Street to 18th Avenue
South; thence south 13.44 feet; thence east
parallel with the north line of Division Street
to 14th Avenue South; thence north along 14th
Avenue South to a point 128.6feet north of
the north line of West;.Walnut Street; thence
east parallel with the north line of West-Walnut
Street to 12th Avenue South; thence south along
12th Avenue South to Division Street; thence
east along Division Street -to the alley east
of 12th Avenue South; thence northeasterly along
said alley to center-line-of West Walnut Street
extended westerly; thence easterly along said
center line to 11th Avenue.South; thence south-
easterly along 11th Avenue South to a point
295.4-feet southeasterly:. afrom the southerly
line of- West-Spruce Street; thence westerly to
a point in--the alley between llth Avenue South
and Holton Avenue, said,point being 277.9 feet
southeasterly from the southerly line of West
Spruce Street; thence southeasterly along said
alley to Division Stryeet;:thence west along
Division Street-to the point of beginning; all
in the City of Yakima; Yakima. County, Wash-
ington.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the
City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima
County, Washington, at the hour of ten o °clock A. M. on Monday, the 29th day of June,
1936, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to
said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of pay-
ment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby, directed to give due notice of said :hearing
and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.

The cost and expense of said improvement shall be borne by and
assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provid-
ed by law and as above described; and.the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit
to the City Commission attor prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the
data and other information required by law to be by him submitted.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION this 8th day of June, 1936.

Ordinance No. B -131 of,the City of Yakima, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE relating to and re-
gulating traffic, travel and transportation and their incidents upon the streets and
other ways open to the public; prescribing the powers and duties of officers and.others
in relation thereto; defining offenses; providing penalties and repealing certain or-
dinances concerned with or relating to the subject matter of this ordinance, and declar-
ing an emergency ", and declaring an emergency," was introduced by Temple and read by the
City Clerk.
