Moved by_Stratton, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, March 12th, 1934 be.approved as read: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Washburn, seconded by Stratton that the following payrolls be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants therefor as follows: Street Dept.-$971.85; Fifth Avenue Improvement Fund $243.50; Cemetery $72.00; Cemetery Care $180.00; Irriga- tion $118.00 and Water $425.05: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on' roll call;. Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that the following zapplioations for licenses to permit public dances be granted and the City Clerk authorized to issue licenses.there- for: R. D. Rovig, 121 South Second Street and.Carl H. Porter, 214 South Second Street. Also the following applications for permits to conduct public dances and cabarets; A.Aa Cooley Cabaret at 121 South Second Street, H. E. Schoonover Dance at 214 South Second Street, Joe Morris Dance at 721 North First Street and Cecil E. Purdy, Dance at 1092 So Second Street, be and the same are hereby granted: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -66, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE providing for the making of certain 'exten- sions to and betterments of the existing water works system of the City of Yakima, Wash- ington, for the purpose of increasing the, efficiency of said system and diminishing the cost of operation thereof; specifying and adopting the system or plan proposed; declar- ing the estimated cost thereof as near as may be and providing for payment of a part of such cost by the issuance of special revenue bonds in the sum of fifty thousand dollars and fixing the terms thereof, said bonds to be payable only out of a fund to be created and established for the payment of the same by setting aside therefor, out of the gross revenues of said water works, a fixed amount without regard to any fixed proportion thereof; and declaring an emergency,f1 was introduced by Stratton and read by the City Clerk. Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -66 be'passed to its second reading and read by title only: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clerk voting aye on roll call. Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -66 be passed to its third reading and read in full: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll.call Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -66 be passed as finally read: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Stratton, seconded by Washburn that we do now adjourn to meet Wednesday, March 21st, 1934 at 9 o'clock A. M: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. B -67, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE relating to intoxicating liquors,, prohibit- ing the manufacture, possession, sale, or other disposition thereof, in the City of- Yakima, except in certain cases; providing penalties for the violation thereof; and de- claring an emergency ", was introduced by Stratton and read by the City Clerk. Moved by Washburn, seconded by Stratton that Ordinance No. B -67 be passed to its second reading and read by title only: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll. call. Moved by Washburn, seconded by Stratton that Ordinance No. B -67 be passed to its third reading and read -in full: carried, Stratton, Washburn, and Clark voting aye on roll call Moved by Washburn, seconded by Stratton that Ordinance No. B -67 be passed as finally read_: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
