Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Tuesday, February 13th, 1934 be approved as read: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye . on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Stratton that the following payrolls be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Street Dept. $957.12;' Cemetery Dept. $72.00; Cemetery Care $75.00; carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark Wting aye on roll call. Moved by Stratton, seconded by Washburn that this being the time for awarding the City printing for the ensuing year and the Republic Publishing Co being the only bid presented it is therefore ordered that said printing be:'awarded,to the above named Company on the same basis as the year 1933 contract: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. 0-78, WHEREAS, it is deemed wise and expedient to take and annex certain contiguous property to the City of Yakima, referred to in an election held for that purpose. on February 9, 1934; and, WHEREAS, it appearing that all preliminary steps have been taken for the proper and due annexation of said property therein described- by the City of Yak- ima; NOW, THEREFORE, by and under the authority of Section 5900, Reming- ton's Revised Statutes of Washington, Annotated, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the corporate counsel of the City of Yakima be and he is hereby authorized and directed to prepare an ordinance providing for the annexation of the following described property by the City of Yakima: Beginning at the southeast corner of the northwest Quarter of the southwest Quarter of Section 23, Township 13 North, Range 15, E.W,M., thence west along said south line 140 'feet; thence north parallel with the east line of said subdivision 327.5 feet to the center line of West Yakima Avenue; thence east along said center line of West Yakima Avenue 140 feet, to the east line of subdivision; thence south along said east line 325.3 feet to the point of beginning. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Resolution No. 0-75 be adopted as read: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -63, entitled, "An Ordinance, providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima of certain property contiguous to the present boundaries of said city, and de- claring an emergency ", was introduced by Stratton and read by the City Clerk. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -63 be passed to its second reading and read by title only: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll_ call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -63 be passed to its third reading and read in full: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No.,B -63 be passed as finally read: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Washburn, seconded by Stratton that the following claims be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: claims in the total amount of $15,011.77, numbered from 30006 to 30045 inc., and segregated as follows: Current Ex- pense, $433.45; Fifth Avenue Impr. $565.55; Cemetery Trust $61881.71; Bond Sinking $6,659.67; L.I.D. Revolving $26.17; F.R. & P. $330.31; Irrigation 72.05 and P.R. & P. $0.00: carried., Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Stratton, seconded by Clark that there being no further business to-come be- fore the Commission we do now adnourn to meet Tuesday, February 20th, 1934'at 9 A. M: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. ADJOURNED MEETING, TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20th, 1934, 9 A.M. The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Commissioners Washburn and Clark present on roll call, Mayor Stratton absent. Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that this being the time for receiving bids for material for the construction of a reservoir for the City Water Department and all bids having been opened and read by the City Clerk; it is ordered that action on same be de- ferred until a later date to be fixed by the City Commission: carried, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call, Stratton absent.
