September 5, 1933
The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Stratton and Commissioners Washburn
and Clark present on-roll call.
Moved by Stratton, seconded by Mashburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Mon-
day, August 28th, 1933 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried,
Stratton, Washburn-and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that the claim of Marvin Lum in the sum of $500.00
for damages alleged to have been sustained by reason of falling on a. defective sidewalk
in front of 114 South Fifth Avenue, in the City of Yakima, be and the same is hereby re-
jecteds carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Stratton that the following payrolls be allowed and the
City Clerk authorized to issue warrants ae follows: Street Dept. $1,038.36; Permanent
Highway $96.00; Parks-$339.60; Cemetery $72.00 and Cemetery-Care $43&00: carried,
Stratton; Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE N0. B -54, entitled, "An Ordinance amending Section 2 of Ordinance No: A-214
entitled - "An Ordinance relating to special municipal elections in the City of North
Yakima, and repealing Ordinance No. 225, and all other ordinances .and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith ", and declaring an emergencya, was introduced by Stratton and read
by_the City Clerk.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance Noe B -54 be passed to its second.
reading and read by title only: carried, Stratton, Washburn and Clark voting aye on -roll
call.

RESOLUTION NO. 0-70, WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Commission of the
City of Yakima, a budget covering the detailed estimate of all expenditures proposed to
be made by the City of Yakima for the ensuing fiscal year and a statement of the probable
revenue from sources other than taxation for the ensuing fiscal year, in the manner and
form prescribed by law; and
WHEREAS, the same has been considered by the City Commission in
detail and such revisions and additions made.as has been deemed advisable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF YAKIMA:
That the aforesaid budget be and the same is hereby adopted and ap-
proved as the budget for the City of Yakima-for the ensuing fiscal year and the City
Clerk is hereby directed to give notice that said budget has been completed and placed
on file, and a copy thereof will'be furnished any taxpayer who will call at the office
of the City Clerk therefor,and that'the City Commission of the City of Yakima will meet
on the first Monday in October, 1933, at the offices of the City Commission in said City
at the hour of 9 o'clock A..M., for the purpose of fixing the final budget and making
the tax levies and notifying any taxpayer that he may appear at said meeting and be heard
for or against any part of said budget, and said notice shall be published once each week
for two consecutive weeks immediately following the adoption of said preliminary budget.
