The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and .Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, April 12, 1948, be approved as read;
® Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the following payrolls be allowed and the City
Clerk authorized to issue warrants to the following departments: Sanitation $2,548.73;
Garage $49.50; Parking Meters $531.10; Irrigation $185.90; Street $3,227.40; Cemetery
$590.40; Water 1,694.90: carried Buck,. Bishop and 'Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the following claims be allowed and the City
Clerk authorized to issue warrants on the following.funds: Current Expense $12,257.91;
Street $3,279 * 19; Library $2,469.37; Cemetery $110.37;; L.I -V $9, 272.95; Irrigation
$207.26; `Hater $11,004.62; C.R. M.P . $17,445.31 and Gas and Oil $2,078.83: carried
Buck, Bishop and 'Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the hearing on the ordinance authorizing the
purchase of equipment not budgeted for a motorcycle for the Police Department in the
sum of $950.00 is hereby continued for another week: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark
voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the proposed ordinance regulating the sale of
goods, wares, merchandise and service on streets and sidewalks and amending Ordinance
No. B -785 with reference to solicitation for .religious purposes was considered and at
the request of representatives of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, the hearing was
postponed for two weeks to give them opportunity to study the draft of said ordinance:
carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, .seconded by Buck that the City Engineer having completed the assessment
roll in L.I.D. No. 627, for resurfacing Yakima Avenue from Naches Avenue to Seventh
Avenue; said assessment roll is hereby accepted and the City Clerk authorized to give
notice of hearing on said roll for Monday, May 10, 1948 at 10 o'clock A.M: carried
Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give
notice to bidders for resurfacing Summitview Avenue from 16th to the City Limits in
L.I.D. No. 633, and the district commonly known as the S. Grandview in L.I.D. No. 643;
said bids to be received on Monday, May 10, 1948 at 10 o'clock A.M: carried Buck,
Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
